Busy Weekend!

So I just realized how flippin busy I am going to be for the next few days! Tonight, Brad and I are treating my Mom and Doug to some PFChangs for Doug's birthday that was back in January! YUM! I am so excited I can hardly stand it! Then tomorrow, my Dad, April and I are heading down to Gulf Shores to check out a house that our Dad is buying. I'm sure we will eat TONS of seafood so I am beyond excited about that! We will come back Saturday afternoon and then April, Mom and I AND our husbands (along with some other people) have supper club at Brooke's house! Woot Woot! THEN Brad is teaching Sunday school Sunday morning and we have a huge Super Bowl party that night! Woooo....I'm tired just thinking about all I have to do! At least it's all fun stuff though! Oh, and to throw in some baby news (who me?) I moved up the date of stopping my birth control from February 8th to January 31st! That's this Saturday! I'm so excited!!!!

Oh. My. Goodness. How is that possible? Eight babies in one person? Seriously? Wow. That's all I have to say.

I know, I know. I've been a bad blogger lately. I've had a sinus infection (I think) for a few days and since I strained my voice Sunday, it's been pretty bad. I think I'm on the mend now though, so things should be looking up. Have I mentioned lately that I want a baby? Like right now? Just checking. And for the record, I wish I was there (the picture below) with my husband today. Happy Wednesday!

Peyton's 5th Birthday!

Yesterday was my nephew, Peyton's, birthday party at the bowling alley! We had soooo much fun, probably more fun than we should have at a 5 year old's birthday party. I love those kids more than I love myself (and that's a LOT!) :o) A lot of kids from Peyton's class came to the party too, and they had a blast bowling! It was a real hit!

This is totally off subject, but it's my blog and I can do that. So I started getting a sore throat a few days ago. I woke up this morning and could hardly even walk. Every single bone in my body ached, particularly my hips and arms. So I struggled to get ready for church this morning because I had to sing in the praise team. My voice is basically really crappy right now (think serious sinus infection/head cold/completely stopped up nose). So I strained my voice singing, of course. Then after church, I came home and slept until I had to be BACK at church at 5:00pm. I realllly strained my voice at the evening service (obviously because my voice was already going and I had to strain to get anything to come out!) So I currently have NO voice. So there you go. Hopefully I'll be better tomorrow, or else I'm going to the doctor!

Tuesday night cook out!

My parents came over Tuesday night for dinner! Brad cooked hamburgers and I cooked french fries and it was all yummy (except for the stale hamburger buns)! After dinner we all sat outside by the roaring fire my hubby built and we all had a good time. We looked like a bunch of rednecks, but at least we had fun!

And The Bachelor? When Jason kissed Stephanie, I'll be honest, I was completely grossed out. And I hate that! I really really want them to have chemistry, but they just don't! And that sucks! And WHY did he not get rid of that crazy girl Shannon?? Maybe he's crazy, too. And if Megan speaks another word, I may just slap her through the tv. She drives me nuts. And not that she left her 14 month old baby at home to come on The Bachelor. Melissa is still my favorite! She is so stinkin cute! And did I hear her correctly when she told Jason she used to have FF size boobs?? That's HUGE! Anyway, Bella is telling me it's time for bed, so Good Night!

Slacker

So lately I have been slacking on the household chores. Usually, I would love to scrub down a toilet or dust for hours on end but lately I just haven't felt the urge. I've turned into a lazy couch potato! As I was reading through my blog list last night, I came across a girl that said she only cleans (during the week) during commercial breaks of her primetime tv shows and any other work got done on the weekends. And I thought to myself, that would work great because I now have at least one show a night that I HAVE to watch! So last night during Desperate Housewives, I tried it out! And by the time DH was over, I had successfully unloaded and loaded the dishwasher, scrubbed the countertops and tidied up the kitchen! Tonight as I watch The Bachelor, my goal is to get my bathroom spotless and dust the entire house! Woo Hoo!

AND........I'm going to slip some baby news in here...........February is fast approaching! And in case you don't know the significance of February: it's the month I stop taking my birth control pills! YAY! One more milestone to pass before we can begin working on Emma Faith! (That's my unborn, ungendered, hopefully a girl, child-in case I lost you there!) Not that I want to wish my life away, but I reallllly want May to get here FAST so we can really start working on a baby!

Praying for Harper

See the new "Praying for Harper" button on the right side of my page? Click it! I stumbled upon Kelly's blog today and have been reading it for hours. Kelly and her husband Scott brought a baby girl, Harper, into the world last night. Unfortunately they soon realized that the baby had some serious problems including pneumonia and the doctors aren't giving them much hope that the baby will survive. Please pray for them as they are sorting through all this and pray that little Harper will make it through this!

My nephews need a new cousin!

Tuesday night, Brad and I watched April's kids so that she and Josh could have their date night. Those three are just about my favorite people in the world. Griffin has been mad at me for like two weeks now because I took a bite of his ham, but I've won him back.....bribery with a happy meal works every time!




We all played the boys' new Wii, and Peyton kicked my butt in Mario Kart. I always smoke Brad when we play that game and I couldn't even keep up with Peyton! After our Wii playing time, we watched American Idol for a while and then we put everyone to bed. Peyton gave me a hug and then looked at me funny as he pushed his little finger on my stomach. He had a very serious look on his face as he was pushing my tummy. He then looked up at me and said, "Aunt Awlson, is there a baby in there?" Umm, not that I know of!




About 30 minutes later Griffin asked, "Awlson, do you have any children?" "No Griffin, you know I don't have any children yet." "Well when will you have some children?" "Soon Griffin, really soon!" Ha. Do they know something I don't?

You're getting sleeeeeepy

I have been SO sleepy the past few days! And I don't know why! Today I have had THREE Mt. Dew's and I am still barely awake. And it's not like I go to bed at 3am. I'm always asleep by 10pm! What is wrong with me??? Now not to change the subject, but I am SO excited about the supper club that my friend is starting this Saturday! I love food! And for some sad news, we found out last night that my cousin, Ben, is being deployed to Afganistan at the end of February. And oddly enough, he is dating my step-sister, Katie (they are not blood related and we live in Alabama, so why not? ha!) and she is going to have a really hard time without him for six months. Those two spend every waking second with each other and she isn't going to know what to do with herself! Please keep them in your prayers! Now I'm going to finish my Mt. Dew and try to wake up. Maybe a brisk jog around the office in this FREEZING weather will wake me up!

More time?!?!?

Today at work, I received a phone call from a tenant who is very behind on her rent and is currently being 'kicked out', for lack of a better term. Her utilities have been turned off for well over a month. And when I say she is behind on her rent, I mean four months behind. Normally, I would NEVER let someone get that far behind but I really believed she would get herself caught up, like she always had before. When I suspected she had moved, I went to her house to see if I could peek through the windows and see if they were still living there or not. Well the house was full of furniture, obviously they hadn't moved, but the power meter was gone. Bingo! I called the power and water companies and both utiliites had been turned off for some time. SO that meant that I could place an abandonment notice on the door and 14 days later, if the utilities were still not on, I could change the locks and throw all their crap away! The 14th day will be Wednesday and she calls today, the 12th day, to tell me that she is still in fact living in the house. Greeeeeat. I explained to her that she could either move by Wednesday because I was changing the locks that day, OR she could turn her utilities back on and pay her huge balance. And do you want to know what she said?? She says that she just needs more time. More time??? Like FOUR MONTHS wasn't enough time for you? Seriously? Did I just hear her say that four months wasn't enough time for her to get her crap out of my house?? And not only is she four months behind on her rent (money that we will NEVER see), my question is this: how the heck has she, her husband and her TWO CHILDREN been living in a house with no power or water for such a long time? We've had some coooold nights in Alabama this past month and this coming week, we are expecting low's in the teens! And HOW, dare I ask, have they been flushing the toilet?? I can only imagine what the inside of that house will smell like.... So I eventually gave in and told her she could have until Monday morning to move everything out. We will see...

My 22nd Birthday

Thursday night (my actual birthday) Brad and I had a very romantic dinner at PFChangs. It was FABulous! We ordered a new appetizer, dynamite shrimp. Oh My Goodness. They were the best thing I have ever tasted. The whole meal was delicious.

Then last night, all my family and close friends went up to The Bright Star to dine on Greek Tenderloin! YUM!

It was the best birthday to date! I have such wonderful friends and family! I love you guys!

Oh baby

I have been sure all day today (and really for the past two weeks) that I was pregnant. Only to be slapped in the face again with a big fat NO again. Happy freakin birthday.

One year ago today I was working hard on planning for my wedding and today, one year later, I'm working hard on planning for my baby! Ah, how things have changed! My 22nd birthday has been great so far! Brad surprised me this morning with a CHI flat iron I have been wanting, Mom bought the patio umbrella I've had my eye on, and look at my desk!

April and I just got back from eating at Ruby Tuesday and tonight, Brad and I have a romantic date at one of my favorite restaurants, PFChangs! Happy Birthday to me! (And Elvis!)

The Bachelor!

I don't really get into The Bachelor that much, but I watched some last season when Jason got his heart broken by Deanna. So when I found out that Jason was going to be the new Bachelor, I decided I would make an effort to watch the entire show this season! Last night was the premiere and I loved it! Woot Woot! To update you on my lovely husband's ventures: he and my Dad are meeting with the Development Agent tomorrow to discuss opening the Subway! Poor Brad has to ride all the way to Birmingham with my Dad. Pray for him! :o)

I'm baaaaack!

Wow. Five days without posting! That's probably a record for me! I'm glad things are getting back to normal and I'm getting back into my routine. And I've been so busy with Christmas, New Year's and my BIRTHDAY coming up that I completely forgot to post about our little cook-out we had at the house a while back! Mom, Doug, Douglas, Brooke and Taelor Brooke all graced us with their presence and here are a few pics from the night:

We had so much fun! Mom and Doug taught Brad how to cook hamburgers on his new grill! What a milestone! And speaking of milestones, I'm turning 22 this Thurday! Woot Woot! To celebrate, Brad and I are going to eat at PFChangs on Thursday and my close friends and family and I are allllll going to The Bright Star to eat on Friday!!! I'm SO excited! Happy Monday everyone!

Babysitting Reece went pretty seamlessly. She only woke up twice during the night and easily went right back to sleep. She woke up this morning at 6:45am...

and we (and by we, I mean Reece!) ate cheese grits for breakfast. AND we managed to not even get any on her clothes! That's a first for us!

After breakfast, we went back to sleep until 8:30am and then we played with Uncle Brad until April came and got Reece. We had so much fun!

So we spent our New Year's Eve doing exactly what I wanted to do...getting in some baby practice! 2009 is going to be a big year for us, with Brad opening the Subway and hopefully some baby news! Happy New Year!
