Movement: He is still moving around in there!
Food cravings: Water and chocolate

Doctor's Appointment

After my last post, I started not feeling well again. I checked my blood pressure and it was 157/83. So I decided that I wasn't going to wait for my appointment. I called Brad (he works about 2 minutes away) to come get me because I was a little dizzy and didn't want to drive. We got to the doctor's office and had to wait about 45 minutes in the waiting room. My blood pressure there was 143/83. The nurse listened to Noah's heartbeat. It was normal-140bpm. Then she had me lay on my left side for 10-15 minutes. She then checked my blood pressure again and this time it was 70/40!!!

So my doctor came in and said that obviously things were not so great. He said that I could very easily develop pre-eclampsia if I continued to go-go-go all day. So he said that he wanted me to go ahead and take a leave from work. He doesn't want me to sit at all...either stand up or lay down, preferably on my left side. That should correct my blood pressure and help with the swelling.

HOWEVER, Noah hasn't dropped AT ALL nor have I dilated any. And laying down will definitely not help that. He seemed a little concerned that Noah hasn't dropped down any, but he said he would rather my blood pressure be normal than for Noah to drop. BUT he did say that my cervix has softened a little since last week, so that's good.

As long as nothing changes, I go back to see him next week. I brought my blood pressure monitor home so I can keep a close eye on it. SO feel free to bring me lunch friends! I'm going to be lonely sitting...I mean laying...at home all day! :o)

Houston, we have a problem!

Well, it may be a problem. It seems like a problem anyway.

Tuesday night, I slept horribly. A prank caller called my cell phone around 1:30am and after that, I couldn't go back to sleep until like 4:00am. So all day Wednesday I was like a zombie at work. Last night, I went to bed at 7:30pm and slept until 6:00am this morning (well besides waking up FIVE times to pee!). So I felt pretty rested this morning. While I was getting ready this morning, I started feeling a little dizzy. I sat down for a minute and didn't really think anything about it because that happens sometimes when I get ready because I'm standing up for so long, getting hot by blowing drying my hair, etc. And besides, after I took a break I felt fine.

Then I got to work. I was working on clearing some end-of-the-year filing and started to feel a little dizzy again. I just assumed it was because I was standing up and moving a lot. So I sat down at my desk. Then, I started to get really hot. HOT. I asked the girls in the office if they were hot and they said NO! So I went outside (where it's like 40-something degrees) and walked around a bit. I came in and was still feeling like I was about to suffocate. Then, April (my sista!) suggested that I check my blood pressure. (My Mom is a nurse and is also obsessed with my blood pressure so she gave me a digital blood pressure monitor to check my blood pressure throughout the day.) So I checked it and it was 164/78! NOT GOOD! For those that don't know...normal BP is 120/80! And my normal BP is a little below 120/80! So I started to FREAK!

I sat down and waited five minutes and checked it again. That time it was 141/88. A little better. So I figured I just needed to sit down and chill out a bit. Five minutes later....152/93! THEN I called my doctor. Over the next hour, I continued to check my BP and it got a little worse (169/88) but then slowly started to go back down, eventually getting to 128/87. When my doctor's office finally called me back and I explained that my BP was really high, but now it was normal, she said to just wait until my appointment this afternoon to come in.

Once my BP got back to normal, I felt fine. April and I went to grab something to eat and to look for an outfit for Noah. Then when we got back to the office, I started feeling funny again. Hot flashes, sweaty palms, just funny. So I checked my BP and it was high again! 154/92! So I told myself that I was just going to sit at my desk and not do anything for a while. I've been sitting here for about an hour...just checked my BP and it's 138/84. I looked it up on the internet and supposedly, it isn't considered high until the numbers are more than 140/90. So I don't know.

And let me just state-for the record-that TODAY, January 28th, is the day I originally guessed that Noah would arrive! Wouldn't that be weird if he really did come today? I'm really anxious to get to the doctor's office and talk to him about all of this. I know he would probably induce me or schedule a c-section if my BP continued to stay elevated, but with it fluctuating so much I'm not sure what he will want to do, if anything.

So just keep your fingers crossed for me please! My appointment is at 3:30pm. Hopefully we won't have an experience in the waiting room like last week!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

We are still here. Noah has his hands behind his head, stretched out comfortably. He isn't going anywhere any time soon I'm afraid. I am having a few contractions a day, but nothing like I was having last week and the week before. And I really don't feel like I've made any progress in the past week. But we will find out for sure tomorrow!

37 weeks

How far along: 37 weeks! Woot Woot!
Total weight gain/loss: Up 46 pounds
Maternity clothes: I can't wait to pack them up!
Stretch marks: Same ones!
Sleep: It's been pretty good this week, surprisingly. I think I'm just so exhausted, I just pass out! I still am waking up 2-3 times a night to pee...and usually once to take some Tums!
Best moment this week: Being able to lounge around all weekend.
Movement: He is still moving around, just not as much as he used to. And he gets pretty still while I'm having contractions.
Food cravings: Chocolate!!!!!!!!!!
Gender: Boy!!
Labor signs: I'm having contractions all day, every day. But thankfully, no more trips to the hospital.
Belly button in or out: Definitely OUT! You can see it poking out in this week's picture!
What I miss: I really want a turkey sandwich. REALLY BAD!
What I am looking forward to: Seeing what color Noah's hair is...I'm thinking black like his Daddy!
Weekly wisdom: I wish I could just print a t-shirt to wear that says, "It's a boy. I have three weeks to go. His name is Noah. YES I have been pregnant forever and YES I am ready for him to come out!" That way, I wouldn't have to repeat myself 500 times a day!!
Milestone: Noah is officially FULL TERM!

Doctor's appointment

I like to schedule my appointments in the mornings. That way, I can get them out of the way first thing and I don't have to 'patiently' wait all day in anticipation for the appointment. Well Brad's work schedule makes it to where if he wants to come, I have to schedule the appointment in the afternoon. We learned yesterday that afternoon appointments SUCK!

My appointment was at 3:30pm. The waiting room was slam pack FULL. We managed to find two seats together (with a table in between them) but there was a magazine and a sippy cup in one of the seats. I politely moved them to the table. Then, I looked up and directly in front of me were three seats. One seat had a hat and sippy cup on it, the second seat was empty and the third seat had a pumpkin seat sitting on it.....with a baby in it (I'm guessing about 4 months old)....with no mother in sight. The baby was screaming crying. I looked around and didn't see the mother anywhere.

About five minutes later, she came around the corner with her three year old hellian. She had been talking on the pay phone! And left her BABY in the waiting room completely unattended!! The sippy cup that was in my seat AND the sippy cup that was in the other seat both belonged to her three year old. The little boy had his pants hanging down almost to his knees...on purpose! He also was roaming around the waiting room, staring at people and getting into everything he possibly could. At one point, the mother noticed that he was missing. She screamed (very loudly in the very echo-y room) for him and when he didn't answer, she went looking for him....again leaving the baby crying.

Ten minutes later, she came back with the screaming kid and slung him down into a seat and ever so kindly told him to sit his *** down and shut the **** up. She then picked up the crying baby to give her a bottle. The kids finally stopped crying for about ten minutes. Then, the little boy saw people coming in and out of the front door and decided he was going to make a run for it. He jumped up and ran toward the door. The mother jumped up and ever so politely told him to get his *** back over to her. He looked back at her, told her NO and ran out the door. So THEN the mother slings the baby back into her pumpkin seat (that was sitting on top of the chair) and ran after the boy. The baby was NOT strapped in and was squirming around, screaming because she was obviously hungry. I came THIS CLOSE to getting that baby. If she would have been left alone for two more minutes, she would have wiggled out and fell onto the concrete floor. The mother finally came back, got the baby and left.

Can we say tramatic? At this point, an hour had passed and we were STILL in the waiting room. I was not happy. Fifteen more minutes passed by before we were called back. My blood pressure was good (shocking after the waiting room drama) and I only gained one pound! I'm so glad! Noah's heartrate was 148bpm.

Then my doctor came in. I told him about the all-day-every-day Braxton-Hicks I have been having and he said that it was a 'necessary evil' and they just helped push him down into position. Ok, I'm good with that.

Then as he was checking me, I asked him if I had to be dilated to be induced. He said, "Well if you needed to be induced because of toximia or another medical condition, we could do it now. But if you just want to be induced, you need to be closer to your due date and have a favorable cervix. You don't have either of those right now." [Insert rage of fury]. He said that he wouldn't induce me any more than a week before my due date and with the progress my cervix is making, I'm most likely going to deliver very close to my due date...not before.

I was NOT HAPPY. I know, I know. He needs to stay in until he's ready. I just need to be patient. The time will come when the time comes. It's almost over. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Of course I want a healthy baby. But I am SO SICK of being pregnant. Noah will be full term tomorrow, so let the games begin. I am going to walk my legs off and have sex, sex and more sex. I am OVER IT! I am down for just about anything but the castor oil. Do yall have any other suggestions or sure-fire tricks that worked for you??

Bad luck

Yesterday, the girls and I were leaving work when April (thankfully) noticed that I had a flat tire! I just bought new tires like a couple of months ago, too! Anyway, I called the hubby-who only works about a minute away-to come change the flat. And as our luck would have it, he just happened to get off work early that day....and was already home. Lovely!

So I waited in my car, playing on my iphone. Hubby finally arrived, then it started to get dark.

Sorry for the crappy iphone camera quality.

And THEN...it started raining. I'm talking a FLOOD people!

Poor hubs got soaked!

BUT the good news is that I woke up this morning and started having contractions before I even got out of bed! We go to the doctor this afternoon and I am hoping and PRAYING that we've made some progress! All these contractions HAVE to be doing something!

The eviction post!

First off, this morning Noah had a visitor come to see him when we got to work. This is his girlfriend, Keltie! There's no room on my lap, so she had to sit on top of Noah instead!

Now in my defense, I have a pillow behind my lower back and it makes my belly poke out more. I'm not that huge!

Ok. Now to the eviction.

Normally, an eviction doesn't get to the point where we actually set all of the tenant's belongings on the street. The tenant receives so many notices that normally, he/she will take the hint and move out before we and the sheriff knock on their door. However, sometimes the tenants are so STUPID that they think we won't actually do anything about them not paying their rent for three months. This is one of those special times! And I always get excited when the tenant is still in the house when we come knocking with the sheriff because there is usually an altercation of some kind...and I'm all about some drama!

So April and I pulled up to the house and I saw a car in the driveway. I got SUPER excited. We and our crew patiently waited for the sheriff to arrive. We were in the ghetto and needed protection! He finally arrived and we bee-bop up to the door. The sheriff (who was super cute and super awesome) knocked on the door.......nothing. He knocked again......nothing. I then got a little disappointed. So the sheriff asked for my key, I gave it to him, he unlocks the door, swings the door open and yells "SHERIFF'S OFFICE!!!!" And then we heard someone from the back of the house say, "What?" (YES! I think to myself) The tenant comes staggering up to the front door and asks what in the world we were doing there. Umm DUH!

The sheriff kindly explained that we were there by orders of the judge to remove him and his belongings from OUR property. Then the tenant goes on and on and on about how he never received a single notice about the eviction, therefore he wasn't going to allow it. Now-as a side note-we mailed him a notice, taped a notice to his door and left weekly notes on his door asking him to call us. Once we filed the eviction, the sheriff delivers SEVERAL notices. So there is NO WAY he never received ANYTHING.

So the sheriff explained to the tenant that it really didn't matter what he said at this point and he needed to kindly step aside. The tenant left to go get a truck to put his crap on (because once we put everything on the street, it becomes community property and any and everyone can take what they want). I went room by room and this is what I saw.....

Why anyone would need that many mattresses, I don't know. We counted 13 total, I believe.

It's really not that bad compaired to what I've seen. I forgot to get pictures of the living room and kitchen, but the tenant had something cooking on the stove when we got there! Homeboy didn't even get to eat!

AND while the tenant was gone to get a truck, the sheriff started going through some papers in a dresser....and found one of the MANY notices the tenant 'never got'. How funny is that?

A little bit of timed passed and I started to hear voices outside. I peeked out the window and saw some people outside talking to the sheriff.

These were just three of the TWENTY people that showed up during the set-out. They all claimed to be a member of the tenant's family....and they all claimed that all the stuff we were disposing of was theirs. Seriously, at one point April and I looked outside and there were four vehicles backed up to the front yard with people loading up.....and most of them were eating....I'm talking Cheetos and chicken wings.

It was a very interesting afternoon for us. And after those two hours of drama, we happily treated ourselves to some Yogurt Mountain! So...any helpers out there that want to volunteer for our next set-out??

Nursery Pictures

Here they are! Now all we need is Noah (and some pictures of him for all the frames)!

My super awesome door thingy that my friend Rissie made! It's going on the hospital door when the time comes, but for now it's hanging on Noah's door!

I don't remember who, but one of you suggested that we hang three picture frames over Noah's bed with pictures of his feet, hands, etc. That's what we are going to do as soon as he gets here! Thanks for the idea!

Noah's bed

Our packed bags! The outfit hanging on the left was Brad's going home outfit. It's sooo tiny, so if Noah doesn't fit in it, he will wear the outfit on the right home. It was my nephew, Griffin's.

The top of the armoire.

Changing table and Noah's letters

A close-up of his letters

April painted those letters for my shower! They are above Noah's closet.

Noah's closet. Those are just the 0-3 month clothes he has! He has so much stuff!

Ta-da! We got the carseat installed!

We are completely 100% ready! Now will someone please pass that message on to Noah? He obviously isn't listening to me...

36 weeks

(I totally didn't realize that I wore this exact same outfit two weeks ago! Pregnant brain!)

How far along: 36 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up 45 pounds

Best moment this week: Just knowing that I'm inching toward having this baby!
Movement: I think he has slowed down just a bit.
Food cravings: This is weird, but I've really been in to water lately! I used to hate water!
Gender: Boy
Labor signs: Contractions every day. We went to the hospital Tuesday with contractions AND we just got back from the hospital again with contractions! (More on that below!)
Belly button in or out: Out!
What I miss: I would SO love a Red Bull right now.

Weekly wisdom: I hope you have a good husband! You are going to need one when you get so huge and swollen that you can't put your socks on anymore!
Milestone: 9 months pregnant!

Hospital trip #2:

So ever since I went to the hospital Tuesday, I've been having contractions every day. Nothing serious, but they are there. This morning, I noticed them starting around 8:30am. They continued through Sunday school and towards the end of class, they started to get worse. Once we went to big church (around 10:45am) I decided that I better start timing the contractions. Once I started timing them, they came ever 2-3 minutes! Church ended around 11:45am and I was still having a contraction every 2 minutes. They weren't very painful, so we decided to go eat lunch to see if they continued. They did. I figured that I wasn't really going into labor because the contractions didn't hurt that bad, but I didn't understand why they were staying in a consistent pattern. I called my doctor and he said that it was probably not the real deal, but he wanted me to go to the hospital anyway to be monitored, just to be sure.

So Brad loaded the car down and we headed to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, my contractions got worse. At that point, I started thinking that maybe this was really it! We got to the hospital and the nurse hooked me up. I had one contraction and then.......nothing. NOTHING for an HOUR. Seriously?!?!? I am so PISSED! The nurse checked me and said that I was dilated a 'dimple', so basically nothing. I'm still about 60% effaced. So we were sent home and we didn't even get out of the hospital parking lot and I started having a contraction! WHAT THE CRAP!!!! I think it has something to do with me sitting upright. I don't really know. But I am NOT going back to that hospital unless I am hurting so bad I can't walk! I hate thinking that I am that patient that keeps going to the hospital for nothing.

So I'm taking it easy for the rest of the afternoon. I go back to the doctor on Thursday and HOPEFULLY I will have dilated some then!

And I know I promised that eviction post last week. I will get to that next week-promise! AND we finally finished the nursery and put the carseat in the car. I will post on that soon, too!

35 week doctor visit

I just got back from the doctor. I only gained one pound this week! Go me! Noah's heartrate was normal, as well as my blood pressure and all that jazz. I haven't dilated any, but Noah has moved down a little to -2 station. Some progress is better than none, right? I had my '35 week labs' done too, including the Group B Strep test...but NOBODY told me I would have to do bloodwork today! That wasn't too fun. I go back next week and my doctor gave me his 'special after hours phone number'! Woot Woot baby time!!

These pictures are from Tuesady when I was in the hospital. I forgot to put them on the hospital post!

I'll be SO glad when I'm not such a swollen whale!

And this just cracked me up. The little stick person on the side of the bed was pregnant!

Stay tuned for a juicy eviction post coming today or tomorrow!

Hospital Visit

Yesterday, I had four contractions. They were mostly in the evening and a little uncomfortable. I have never had more than two a day, but I figured it's just time for things like this to happen. Then today, around 12:30pm, I started having them again. But starting at 12:30pm, I had them every five minutes and they were even a little painful!! I waited a while, maybe 30 minutes or so and they still kept coming. I decided to call my doctor's office so they could monitor me to see what was going on. As soon as I said I was 35 weeks and having contractions that were five minutes apart, the nurse said, "GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!"

Sooo I did! With April in tow, of course! The nurse hooked me up to the monitors to check everything out. Noah was doing fine and I was definitely having contractions. I could only feel them lasting about 15 seconds but the nurse said they were lasting mostly between 30-40 seconds, some even over a minute. She called my doctor to tell him what was going on and he told the nurse the check me to see if I was dilated any and to monitor me for 30 minutes or so. I wasn't dilated at ALL, but 60% effaced-the nurse said that was ok.

So with all of that information, I had two choices. I could stay longer, get an IV and some drugs for the pain.....or suck it up and go. I chose option 2! The last time I got an IV, it hurt like the DEVIL and my contractions weren't really hurting that bad.

The nurse told me to come back if (1) my water breaks, (2) if my contractions got stronger or (3) if my contractions stayed five minutes apart for over an hour.

I'm still having contractions and let me tell you-they are NO fun. I'm going straight home after work, propping my feet up and drinking plenty of water. Hopefully, that will help some. But I definitely think Noah will come early now. Especially if these contractions don't stop!

35 weeks

How far along: 35 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up 44 pounds!!
Maternity clothes: I'm finding that it's a lot easier and more comfortable to just wear Brad's clothes!
Stretch marks: So not only do I have them on my butt, but NOW I have one spawning off my appendectomy scar and one coming off my belly button. Stretch marks SUCK!
Sleep: Still horrible. I'm waking up about twice a night to pee. And waking up every hour to switch sides because whatever side I'm laying on is asleep. My lack of sleep is also causing me some pretty bad headaches during the day. I took a Tylenol PM like my doctor suggested, but it didn't really help much.
Best moment this week: Celebrating my birthday with dinner at The Bright Star! YUM!!
Movement: Same as always...moving like crazy!
Food cravings: Potato chips
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: A few Braxton-Hicks, but nothing major.
Belly button in or out: Out
What I miss: Not being swollen up everywhere all the time!
What I am looking forward to: Getting the carseat installed in the car tomorrow (hopefully)!
Weekly wisdom: Get everything done to prepare for the baby as soon as you can. Once you get this far along, you won't have the energy to do ANYTHING!
Milestone: Our hospital bags are packed and ready to GO! We are READY for Noah!

Doctor's Appointment

I have gained 7 pounds since my last appointment two weeks ago....that brings me to 44 pounds! Hubba hubba! Everything is fine with me and Noah. My doctor said he hasn't dropped yet, which I thought for sure he had! I also asked him about all the headaches I've been having lately and he said it was probably due to the lack of sleep I'm getting and to take a Tylenol PM before bed. He said that allll the swelling I'm dealing with is due to being up and going all day. Basically sitting at a desk, which I do for most of the day, is the worst possible position to be in which is why I am so swollen. But all in all, it was a good appointment and I start going back once a week! YAY!

In other news, we got a few snowflakes yesterday but NOTHING stuck. They cancelled my appointment anyway yesterday, which is why I'm just not posting about the appointment.

Oh yeah, and Alabama freakin won the National Championship!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Pictures

So like I said before, I completely forgot to take ANY pictures on Christmas day....so I had to wait until April posted them so I could steal them from her blog and put them on here!

Christmas morning, we woke up and headed over to April's house to have breakfast and open gifts with the family. Bella, Noah and I were not quite awake.

Bella loves visiting Aunt April's house!

On Christmas Eve Eve (I'm totally going backwards, but I'm pregnant so deal!) we went to Big Mama's house to celebrate with our other side of the family. Josh and preggo.

And my favorite picture of all...we all bought Big Mama a Wii for Christmas. You would have thought she won the lottery.

So there you go. No pictures of Brad because I'm a bad wife and apparently April is a bad sister-in-law! I'm sure we will make up for the lack of pictures next year when we have a 10 month old to chase around! If you want to see more pictures, go to April's blog.

I'm supposed to go to the doctor in the morning. But if you remember correctly, we are also supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow sooooo.....who knows. They just announced that the schools will be closed tomorrow....I told you we Alabamians take this snow stuff seriously! So come back tomorrow and hear all about our doctor's appointment OR see a bunch of pictures of snow!

For your amusement

Remember when I said that I had to renew my driver's license? Well I did it. And it's not pretty people. Not pretty at ALL. I wasn't going to post this, but I like to make people feel good about themselves. And seeing how hugely fat I've gotten will probably make you feel good about how skinny you are. So this is my little Christmas present to you (even if it's late!)

The old picture (right after Brad and I got back from our honeymoon in 2008)

AND the new picture...

I know, I know. It's hilarious. I can't help but laugh at it. But to credit myself, I think you always look fatter in the temporary picture than in the real license you get in the mail several weeks later. And I really don't think my face is that fat in person. And if it is, please don't tell me! I hear it enough from complete strangers in Lowe's, little old ladies at church and my grandmother! AND I totally forgot that my roots are mega-bad so not only am I fat in my picture, but I have some serious rootage going on.

I fully intend on paying for a redo once I lose the baby weight!

In other news, it's supposed to snow here Thursday and Friday. This is BIG NEWS in Alabama! It's only going to be 1-3 inches but I'm sure everything is going to close down and Publix will have no groceries by Wednesday. In case you didn't already know, I hate snow. HATE. So not only do I have to deal with the stupid white stuff, it's also going to prevent me from celebrating my birthday at The Bright Star like I do every year! My birthday is Friday and we Alabamians don't know how to drive in the snow. So we all just stay indoors. SOO my birthday woohaa is being postponed until Saturday. At least I will get some Bright Star SOMETIME this weekend!

Oh and Thursday, Alabama plays for it's 13th national championship! Hopefully, the blizzard won't interfere with the power....otherwise, my husband may have a heart attack.

Noah's letters!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Noah's letters! I got them today....my friend's daughter-in-law finished them in like a week! I am SO excited they turned out so cute!

I haven't decided how I want to hang them yet. But as soon as I get them on the wall, Noah's room will be completely finished and I'll be able to post some pictures!
