Partial Check! #52 (Part 1 of 5)

My church had a WOW (Women of Worth) event this past Friday night, featuring Elizabeth Luter!

eluter

Elizabeth is the lady on stage. (Not at our church, though. I stole that picture off Google!) She was an outstanding speaker with an amazing testimony. She and her husband, a pastor, were victims of Hurricane Katrina. After the storm when so many others didn’t want to return to their hometowns, she and her husband went back and decided to rebuild their home and their church. They had so many people attending after they rebuilt, that people were actually being turned away because there was simply no more room….the sanctuary was full, the hallways were full, rooms were full, etc. It’s really an awesome story about their faithfulness and God’s blessing upon their lives during the hardest time of their lives. Loved her!

AND we had some DELICIOUS food!

1-28-11

Doesn’t that look yummo?!? It was, believe me! I made a happy plate! Plus I had some good company! A lot of girls from my Adult Bible Study group came, including the bestie…

And speaking of God’s blessings and how AWESOME my church is, if you live close by PLEASE come visit our church, Valley View Baptist, February 13-16 (6pm on Sunday, 6:30pm Monday-Wednesday) for The Awakening. We are expecting God to move among us in ways we’ve never seen before! We are getting prayed up in preparation for this event and really really want YOU to be a part of what God is going to do. Plus KARI JOBE is leading worship every night!!

karijobe

PLEASE tell me that you know how awesome she is?!!??!? She has like the #1 record in Christian music right now! And she’s coming HERE! ALL WEEK!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m excited. Can you tell?

Partial Check! #1 (Part 1 of 10)

Two posts in one day?!?! Look at me go! Please read my other post from today to know what in the world I’m talking about in the title to this post!

My Dad brought back this little package to the office today.

And then the angels started singing….”AAAAAH!!!”

IMG_2706

No, they were NOT all for me! :) I got the pretty pink one, Strawberry Shortcake!

IMG_2708

Thanks Dad for contributing to my fat roll. 1 down, 9 to go!

I finally did it!

I made my 101 in 1001 list! If you look to the right, you should see my new little tab where you can find the list. I’m excited about it! And don’t hate because my #1 is to try 10 different cupcakes at Gigi’s. They FINALLY opened yesterday!

1-27-11

April had the top left-carrot cake. I had the top right-tiramisu. Brad had the bottom right-chocolate covered strawberry. I tried all three and they were DELICIOUS!!! And because my 101 in 1001 list didn’t start until today, I didn’t count those three yummo cupcakes. Yes I did that on purpose. :)

P-A-R-T-Y!

One of my sweet nephews turned 7 last Friday and we partied it UP! Now that Noah is walking and old enough to do things, birthday parties are SUPER fun! There were big blow-up slides at Peyton’s party and Noah loved getting to slide like a big boy!

He’s not as scared as he looks in the picture, I promise. But he did have more fun going up the slide rather than down!

And I don’t know why but in every picture of me and Noah sliding, I’m holding him by his man-hood. Forgive me.

Can you tell how much FUN we had?!?! This picture is of the birthday boy, Peyton, and my favorite person in the world, Big Mama!

And finally, the present opening! I asked Peyton a few days before what he wanted me to get him. He said the Paper Jamz drum set. When he opened his present (I’m infamous for forgetting to buy a card, so most of the time I have to yell-HEY that’s from me!) he smiled the biggest 7-year-old smile and said, “That’s from Allison!” Melt my heart! :)

Picture overload, I know. If you are still reading, you get a gold star!

Our next birthday party is for my 3 year old nephew and then…………….Noah’s party!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 11 months Noah!

11 months 1

Just a few more short weeks and my baby boy will be a year old! I can’t believe it! He is such a mess these days yall. His little personality continues to shine each day!

  • Weighs 24 lb 2 oz-the exact same as last month according to our scale. The doctor’s office showed that he was a little lighter than that though.
  • Wearing 12-18 month clothing but I still try to squeeze him into some of his 9 month stuff…
  • Wearing size 3 diapers

11 months 2

  • Has 7 teeth…4 on top and 3 on the bottom
  • Says dada, daddy, mama, hey, baw (bottle), Beh (Bella), gone, goo gaa (good girl-to Bella), nah (give me that :)), and lots of babbling! He’s such a talker these days.
  • Eats oatmeal, cheese grits or a Nutrigrain bar for breakfast. Eats #3 baby food and a yogurt/applesauce for lunch. For dinner we usually try to get him to eat table food. So far his favorite dinner is chicken nuggets and green apple slices. He is a VERY picky eater and is very funny about texture.

11 months 3

  • Sleeping through the night! We loosely follow the bath, bottle, bed routine. I say loosely because we have been going out to eat or had plans a lot lately and if it’s past his bedtime when we get home and if he’s already had his bottle, we just lay him down as soon as we get home and he still goes right to sleep. Normally he goes to bed around 7:00pm and wakes up at 6:30am.
  • He is a WALKING MACHINE!!!!!! The most steps we have seen him take at a time is 12 but he can easily walk now. He is still mastering the skill and falls often, but he prefers to walk if he can.

11 months 6

  • We are still taking 2 two hour naps a day, sometimes a little longer than that. He loves to sleep! And I am SO thankful for that!
  • So far, he has had three haircuts! It seems to grow so much faster now that it’s being cut regularly.
  • He loves to figure out how things work. If he gets a new toy, he flips it around and around checking the bottom of it to see how the wheels are attached or how a door opens/closes. I love that about him.

11 months 5

  • He will drink out of his sippy cup at meal times but when it’s time for his morning/afternoon/night bottle, he wants his “baw”! I really need to buckle down and wean him off the bottle but I’ve just been lazy lately with being sick and everything. Bad Mommy!
  • He LOVES Bella lately. He will pull her hair, fall on her, pull her ears, etc. and she just sits there and lets him! She loves him, too. Every morning when I go wake him up, his first word is ‘Beh’! and he pets her through his crib rails.

11 months 4

That face really cracks me up! I bet he thinks I’m nuts sometimes!

Each month I’ve thought that the stage Noah was in was my favorite, but it just keeps getting better! He is so much fun and I am so thankful and proud to be his Mommy.

I am getting SO excited about his birthday party and I can’t WAIT to show my bloggy friends all the hard work I’ve been putting into it!

Sinusitis stinks!

Wow. Have I ever gone that long without blogging? I think not! I have been sick for TWO weeks yall. And during my birthday! My sister had pneumonia and the flu when I started feeling bad so I was convinced I had the flu. I was achy all over, had a terrible headache and just felt crummy. I went to the doctor one week into being sick and they did all kinds of tests on me and told me I had sinusitis. I got a steroid shot, an antibiotic and cough medicine that will kick your butt and was sent on my merry way. A full week later after religiously taking my medicine, I still felt like crap. Maybe a little worse. So back to the doctor I went.

This time, they did allllll the same tests plus some and an x-ray. Still sinusitis. But this time I got some different antibiotics and a different shot-that hurt like the DEVIL!!!! (And as a little side note, a MALE nurse had to give me the shot….in the BUTT….and my panties said “Snuggle Up” on the back. Just peachy.)

And right after my second doctors visit, I had to take Noah back to his doctor to get a check-up to make sure his ear infection was all gone.

1-12-11

It was! Yay! Noah is fascinated with his package. See? This is proof-it’s like in their DNA. Must. Check. Package. 57 times a day.

SO with allllll of that going on, plus me trying to constantly pick up after my monkey…

1-11-11

AND planning his birthday party, I have yet to post about his 11 month birthday! So that’s one of my goals this weekend! I think I can! I think I can!

Reece’s 3rd birthday

With all the craziness of Christmas and Noah’s ear infection, I forgot to post about Reece’s birthday party! My favorite niece had a gymnastics party the week before Christmas. All the kids had SO much fun.
