Saturday night, while Brad and I were hanging out with some friends, somehow the topic of geocaching came up. I had only heard of it once before but never knew what it was. And in case you don’t know what it is either, here’s a definition:
Geocaching is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache’s existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS unit can then try to locate the geocache.
We did a quick search for geocaches in our area and there are literally hundreds just in our town. So Sunday afternoon, Brad and I went searching for some! We searched at four different locations and ended up finding two of the caches.
It’s crazy how there is this whole secret geocaching world that no one ever talks about! And the two caches that we found were by our house and our church-the twos places we are at the most-and we never even knew this stuff existed!
I’m glad that Brad and I found a hobby that we both enjoy and it gets us outside and moving! Do any of you geocache?
