I'm watching Wheel of Fortune. The show just came back from a commercial break and Pat Sajak says, "If you think hosting a game show after eating a Goober is easy, IT'S NOT!!" What is he smoking?!?!? I would kick butt on Wheel if I could ever make it on the show. Did you know I auditioned for Wheel when the Wheel Mobile came to Birmingham?? And when I say auditioned, I mean that I put my name on a piece of paper, along with the 500 thousand other people there, and hoped that they would draw my name out! They didn't, their loss! But seriously-one time on the bonus puzzle, it read: _ _ _ H _ _ _ D and the catergory was Thing. Without missing a beat I said, "Fish Food" and it was RIGHT! Why will they not get me on that show?!?!! Because they don't want to give away millions of dollars! That's why!
By the way, I just ate FOUR pieces of pizza. FOUR. And three little teeny tiny breadsticks! Fat Cow!

Taboo

I used to play this game ALL THE TIME as a kid. So Brad and I decided that we would buy the game to play with some friends Saturday night. It was boys against girls and we girls were sucking it up big time. The guys had some serious ESP going on....they beat us every time we played!! Let me tell you how to play Taboo so that you will understand the funny thing I'm about to tell you. Basically you get a card that says a word on it like 'apple'. You try to get your team to guess the word on the card BUT there are five other words on the card that you can NOT say to try to get them to guess 'apple'. For instance, 'cider' 'fruit' 'new york city'....you get the point. So to get them to say 'apple' you would have to say, "A ____ a day keeps the doctor away" or something like that. ANYWAY the boys were trying to guess a word and my husband was the clue giver. The word was "Arnold Schwarzenegger" so Brad gave his clue...."The Governor of Georgia" and Chris, one of our friends, says, "Arnold Schwarzenegger!!!" Ummm.....Since when is Arnold the Governor of Georgia??? And how did he get that right?!?!!?

Baby Safari Quilt
I've been quilting allllll weekend. My goal was to have the quilt finished by Sunday, today, for a baby shower. Well things didn't progress as quickly as I planned...but I'm sure there will be more baby showers in my future!
It took me over a week to get all the fabric cut into the square pieces. Thank goodness I bought that rotary cutter! It would have taken me forever cutting with scissors!
This was my first completed square.
And this is what I have completed so far. The top will be three squares wide (what's shown in the picture) and four squares long.
And this is my work space! My table is tall and I'm very short so I'm having to use the box that the sewing machine came in as a step stool so that I can reach the foot control!
I had a wonderful, relaxing weekend...and Bunco tomorrow night! I can't wait!

It's here!
My ginormous picture came in yesterday and so I dropped it off at The Frame Shack to be framed. And here it is today! Woot Woot!
That sucker is heavy, let me tell you. Brad is very hurt that we could afford to frame this, but we 'can't afford to frame Rocky Stop' (or at least that's what I tell him!)
My fabulous hair stylist had her baby, Nate, yesterday so we are going to see him tonight! I am so excited! I can't wait! Did you know that if we get pregnant this month, I am already technically five days pregnant???? Woo Hoo!!!

Brad's Gift
As I was 'managing property' this morning, Mom and I came across something that I'm thinking about giving to my husband. He's always junking up the garage with his tools and things so this gift would be the perfect present for him! In fact, it already has his name on it!

Love him!
I had one wall in my living room that needed something on it. If my husband had his way, the wall would have been taken up by a framed picture of "Rocky Stop" but one Daniel Moore painting is all I can take in my living room at one time! So instead, I decided that nothing would be better than a picture of us! In fact, a HUGE picture of us! Two feet by three feet to be exact!

Quilts
As promised, here is an updated picture of my grandmother's garden quilt. Sorry the picture is so dark, I don't know why it did that. I whipped out a flower in no time on my machine but it puckered a lot so I decided that I really just need to hand quilt this one. The shapes are so hard to work with on the machine.
I've been shopping a lot lately at the fabric stores in town getting a rotary cutter and mat, pins, needles, etc. and while shopping I found a 'quilt in a bag', as I have named it. The bag contained the fabric in the picture below and instructions for making a baby quilt. So I'm going to be working on that, too.
Now to change the subject, let's talk about baby making! Thank you all so much for the love and support you have shown me. I tend to let my mind run farther than it should sometimes and now I think I got a little carried away with the whole situation. So thank you again for the kind words. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before we are PG!

Guess what IIIIIIIII got!!

And it was on sale!! $100 off the regular price! Now I just have to figure out how to operate the thing! Brad and I made a deal that if I got a new sewing machine, he could get a custom made bowling ball (because he's a loser!!! Just kidding sweet husband of mine!). I'm pretty spoiled. New furniture, a new car and a new sewing machine all in a week and a half?? Lucky me!
If the quilt I'm making turns out well, I'm thinking about selling them. It's something I love doing so why not make some extra money with it? I'm also thinking about taking some classes at the sewing shop to 'improve my technique' as the teacher said. Exciting!

I'm scatterbrained today
Last night at church someone asked me, "Are you still trying for a baby?" And I wanted to say, "It's kinda hard when I'm not freakin OVULATING lady!!!" But I refrained and just said, "Yes, we are!"
Did I mention that I LOVE my new car? And I especially love it when it's gorgeous outside like today, and I can drive with my sun roof open!
And I promise to update on my quilt............as soon as I update the quilt! I haven't worked on it since the last time I posted about it! What can I say? I've had a lot on my mind! I plan on buying a sewing machine in the near future, so that should speed up the process.
It's now less than one month until our ahem Baby Making Trip! I can't wait to see Wayne Brady, play the slot machines and pig out!

When do I get my membership card?
It's funny to think that I've always thought getting pregnant would be easy. When you are ready for a baby, you try and then BOOM! You're pregnant! My Mom got pregnant the first month she tried with me and my sister. My sister got pregnant without even trying (twice) and got pregnant the first month she tried with her third. I've always assumed that since they were so fertile, I would be the same way. And as I started reading blogs a year or so ago and became particularly interested (for no real reason at the time) in infertility blogs, I thought, "Those poor girls." Never thinking that I would soon be one of them. A member of the secret, underground club that is infertility. Remember this post? I had no reason to believe this would happen to me, just a gut feeling. It's interesting to me that God sort of prepared me for this. I guess so it wouldn't be such a slap in the face. I just pray that we won't have a long battle with infertility.

The results
The test came back negative. I'm not pregnant. I was also informed that until AF arrives, I will NOT ovulate. My annual GYN appointment is around the beginning of May, so if AF has not come by then, my doctor will most likely put me on some sort of fertility drug(s), I'm guessing Clomid. So much for our Baby Making Trip............

Update
Update to the update: I had my blood drawn to check my beta level. So now I have to wait for the doctor's office to call me with the results. I was so nervous when I got my blood drawn (and because the lady was so mean!) that I forgot to ask how long it would take to get the results back. From what I hear, I will probably know something sometime tomorrow. If I haven't heard from them by lunch tomorrow, I'm going to call them.
I talked to my doctor's office. They don't seem to be as worried as I am, and I don't know if that makes me feel better or not. I am going to get my beta level checked around 2:30pm today and I assume they won't be able to tell me anything until tomorrow. I would ask you to pray that I'm pregnant because that's what I really want, but if it's not God's time, then that's that. So instead I'll ask that you pray that everything is normal and we won't run into any problems! I'll update as soon as I know more.

What's been on my mind...
*Disclaimer* This post contains facts that could possibly be TMI!!
So I've been going through some things lately. I wasn't going to talk about it on here, but I figured I would feel better if I got it all off my chest. It's also the reason why I haven't been blogging much lately. As you know if you read my blog, Brad and I are going to be trying for a baby in late April, you know-the Baby Making Trip to Vegas! So in preparation for that, I've gotten off my birth control pills so they will be completely out of my system when it comes time, taking plenty of vitamins, calcium, folic acid, etc. AF was set to arrive on March 5th, but didn't. I thought at that point that I might be pregnant because AF is normally right on time BUT that's because I was on the pill. The reason I got on the pill in the first place was because AF was irregular. But I took a test anyway on the 6th. BFN. I tested again on the 8th. BFN. Tuesday, the 10th, I was getting a little concerned so I called my doctor. He said that I needed to wait a week and test again. So I tested Saturday, the 15th=BFN. So I am now waiting on my doctor to call me back to tell me what to do next.
I've been reading a lot on the internet and it says that with some people, it takes 6-12 months to get AF back after stopping with the pill. If that's the case, will I even ovulate until it comes back?? You can't make a baby if you're not ovulating! The second scenario I've read about is that some women don't make enough of the hormone detected in home pregnancy tests for it to show up positive. So I could be 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. I really hope that's what's going on instead of the previous scenario. I hope my doctor lets me come take a blood test today. I would feel so much better if I just knew what was wrong. I knew it was going to be difficult for us to get pregnant. I just knew it. Please pray that there is nothing seriously wrong and that if we are not already pregnant, that we can get pregnant without too many issues. I've read too many infertility blogs and know too much about that painful process. I'll update again after I talk to my doctor.

New Stuff!
Sorry I haven't blogged in so long! I've been a little under the weather lately and had some killer headaches! More on that later.....But in the mean time, here are pictures of our new living room furniture that I absolutely LOVE!
The ginormous recliners!!! They feel like you are sitting on clouds!
Loveseat and coffee table
Couch
We are planning on painting the living room a light green sometime soon to better match the new furniture.
Guess what was in my garage this morning!!!!!
YAY for my new car!! I love love love it! We were in Birmingham from 5:45pm-9:30pm last night! We were exhausted by the time we got home but I'm so glad we got the car. It's much more spacious on the inside (plus it's suuuuuped up!)
Brad is having his Grand Opening at the Subway today so he is going to be pretty tired when he gets home. Needless to say, we will be staying IN tonight for the first time in a while! I'm looking forward to catching up on Survivor, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice!

You wanna know something else that bugs me?
When we were buying our furniture from Ashley's Furniture Homestore, the nice sales lady told us that someone would be contacting us within 48 hours to set up a delivery date, and the furniture should be delivered within 5 days. Great! 48 hours come and go.......today, 144 hours later, a lady from the Birmingham Ashley's calls to set up the delivery. Our conversation:
Lady: "I'm calling from Ashley's Furniture Homestore to set up your delivery."
Me: "Great!"
Long pause
Me: "Soooo....when can you deliver it?"
Lady: "The soonest we can deliver will be Wednesday."
Me: "Oh, that won't work. My husband and I work during the day. It will have to be on the weekend."
Lady: "Umm, well, we will only be in town next week on Wednesday or Friday."
Me: "WELL we won't be there then! We need to schedule for a weekend!"
Lady: "Well the SOONEST be can be there will be the 21st."
Me: "Fine."
So our delivery time went from 5 days to 3 weeks. What a crock.

Excuse this post, I'm just ill.
You want to know what really hacks me off? Well you better because I’m going to tell you whether you want me to or not. I love to sing. LOVE it. I sing on the praise team and in the choir at church. Recently, the music director asked me to sing a song with the choir, something I’ve only done one other time. It’s a scary, scary thing, singing in front of a bunch of people, especially when you don’t sing all that wonderfully. (I am my own worst critic and at times become absolutely disgusted with myself after singing something. I have my brilliant singing moments, rarely, but am no Carrie Underwood.) So I had maybe 3-4 weeks to learn this song. Normally, that's no problem, except for the fact that my cd player in my car ATE a cd and quit working. It takes me 20ish minutes to get to work everyday plus I ride around a lot in my line of work, giving me a lot of time to practice the song. Well now that my cd player in my car is broken, obviously I can't practice! So I try to practice at home, but honestly I can't concentrate all that great when I know Brad is outside the door listening and by the time I get home from work each day, the last thing I want to do is work for two more hours on singing. I want to see my husband and Bella! So I tried to practice the song, but it just didn't sound good. Some parts were a little too high for me, mainly because my range sucks. So I let the music director know and he worked on it with me and it actually got a little better. I was good to go. Then tonight at choir practice, we practiced my song, which we will be singing in a week and a half. I am singing along, everything is going swimmingly, here comes the high note........!!AGR?B?SG?!!.....comes out of my mouth. OBVIOUSLY, very very obviously I jacked the note WAY up. And the choir wasn't even singing at this point, so everyone's ears were on ME and my baaad note. As soon as it comes out, I turn around and give a look of sincerest apology to their ears. Completely humiliating. You know it's bad when my tone deaf husband agrees that I messed it up. Please bury me under a rock so I don't have to sing that song in a week and a half. Please!!!

The Bachelor
Pissed. That's what I am. Jason is a jerk and I wish Molly would have turned him down. Poor Melissa! But come on, something had to have happened, I assume with her family. The chemistry just wouldn't "go away" like that. SOMETHING happened. But what? Gahh I cannot believe what a jerk Jason is. I'm just shocked.

New furniture!
So YAY we bought all new living room furniture Saturday. And heeeeere it is!
We got the couch and loveseat...
two recliners.....
and this coffee table!
We also went car shopping! I test drove the Rogue and it's a lot smaller than my Explorer I have now. With a baby coming shortly down the road, I definitely don't want to down-size! So now we are either going to just wait until Brad gets his promotion (cross your fingers!!) or we are going to just bite the bullet and get the much more expensive Murano. Time will tell!
AND if you know of anyone who needs my old leather couch and loveseat, coffee table and two end tables, send them my way!

Fun in the snow!
When it snowed last year, Bella wasn't too sure about it. This morning after it snowed, I walked outside with her and she looked at me like I was crazy for taking her outside in the snow! But after she saw her Daddy and I have a snowball fight, she was ready to play!

Crazy Alabama weather
Last week we were enjoying 70 degree temperatures. Friday, it went from 70 degrees to 35 degrees with tornadoes EVERYWHERE. This morning I was woken up by several phone calls to get me to see this:
Close down Tuscaloosa! It's snowing!
