Time for an update!

My friend Amy reminded me to update my 101 list a few days ago and as I was looking at the list again, I realized that I need to update a few! So here goes.

#1-I finally completed it!

Miss Princess

I know you are probably SO glad I’m finished posting about cupcakes! This one is Miss Princess. Pretty tasty!

#39-was accomplished last week!

clothes

We cleaned out our closet and sent all of those clothes to be packed up and shipped to people in need in Honduras! Which leads me to….

#13 (Part 1 of 5)-we helped pack those clothes up!

The Honduras mission trip is near and dear to my heart. I’ve been three times and I can tell you firsthand that it’s a life-changing experience. Brad is going for the first time this year and he is SO excited!

#79-Volunteer in the church nursery

allybrooke

I volunteered in the nursery one of the nights during our revival. I was worn OUT! That sweet little girl is my cousin’s baby! She’s so cute!

Ok. I think that catches everything up. And because no post would be complete without a little touch of Noah…

Chocolate Salted Caramel. I thought it would be a lot better than it was. But still good.

german sweet chocolate

German Sweet Chocolate. Holy mother of pete. Have you ever had a Samoa Girl Scout cookie? It tastes JUST like that. I ate the entire cupcake in one sitting. My mouth just watered typing that. It’s like a little slice of heaven just fell down. Seriously.

No I don’t weigh 300 pounds yet. But I reallllllly need to stay away from the cupcake store! It’s just so tempting!

Noah’s 1st birthday party!

I’m checking off #41 (part 1 of 3) of my 101 list for throwing Noah an AWESOME birthday party! It was so so much fun! Warning: PICTURE OVERLOAD!!!!

Ok so Noah’s party was monkey themed. I thought that was the perfect theme because (a) we call him ‘monkey’ all.the.time. (b) he loves monkeys (c) they are just so cute!

Here is the invitation:

Noah was SO tired after his party, but because he was sugared up on cake and ice cream, he didn’t take a nap! But he slept like a rock that night!

Noah had his one year pictures made this weekend. Go to http://www.courtneybluephotography.com/ and enter her blog to see a sneak peek of some of the pictures! I think they are FABULOUS, but I am a wee bit biased!

Noah’s one year check up

Taking Noah to the doctor’s office is always an adventure. They put you in a small room and leave you in there for 20-45 minutes to wait for the doctor. Those are not good numbers when a 1 year old is involved.

In the waiting room (before being taken back to the small room), we ate raisins, rearranged the yellow chairs and read books.

Then we were escorted to the small room. Noah weighs 24 lb 13oz (75%), 29 3/4 inches long (75%) and has a head circumference of 19 in (95%). And just in case you didn’t know, 12 month check ups include a toe prick.

noahdoctor2

Noah was too busy trying to flirt with the nurse and ‘patting her a cake’ to even notice the toe prick! Hallelujah!

After the nurse left us, we had to wait on the doctor. So we played with the super-fun paper.

After he completely ripped the paper to shreds, he decided that it was time for a bottle.

noahdoctor6

And speaking of the bottle, next weekend they are going bye bye for good! Cold turkey!

After two shots in one leg and one shot in each arm, my little man was completely exhausted.

How pitiful is that?? The good news is that he hasn’t been in a bad mood or acted like he was hurting at all since then! So that’s good.

I’ve also just realized that I didn’t do Noah’s 12 month photo session and update. He is having professional pictures made this weekend so I’ll count that as his 12 month pictures! Here is his update:

  • Wearing 12-18 month clothing
  • Still in size 3 Pampers Cruisers and probably will be in them a while
  • Has 8 teeth, 4 on top and 4 on bottom
  • Can say Mama, Dada, Daddy, Beh (Bella), ba-tull (bottle), bakkull (waffle), bye-bye, no, goo gull (good girl), those are the words he says regularly without prompting, but he can also repeat anything you say
  • Eating table food is still a battle. He will eat chicken nuggets, apples, bananas, strawberries, rice and beans and the usual snacks but that’s pretty much it. He just likes baby food. We keep offering different foods but he refuses them. Any ideas??
  • Still sleeping through the night like a champ. We struggle to keep him awake until 6:30pm and I wake him up at 6:30am. Sometimes he wakes up before then but he just plays in his crib until I come get him. And on the weekends he will usually sleep in until 7:30am.
  • He rarely ever crawls anymore. He is a professional walker now :)
  • He wears size 3 shoes, but we are going this weekend to get him new shoes because the 3’s are getting a little small
  • Still taking two 2 hour naps or one 4 hour nap a day
  • Has major attitude issues lately. He is really testing his boundaries and we have really been trying really hard to enforce those boundaries with him. I have been contemplating not going out to eat for a while with him until we get these issues under control. Thankfully, this too shall pass!
  • LOVES taking a bath even moreso now that he has new bath toys to play with!
  • That kid knows more people than I do. We attend a really big church so it’s almost impossible to know everyone there. Noah and I will be walking down the hall at church and people (that I don’t know) will stop and say, “Hey Noah! How are you?” And he smiles and babbles something back. So cute!

I can’t believe how fast time flies. I love my little boy SO SO SO much!

PS-Triple gold star if you actually read all that! :)

Partial Check! #1 (Part 5 & 6 of 10)

WHEW! Noah’s birthday party was SUCH a success! I’ll post all about that once I get all the pictures together. A few hours after Noah’s party, our revival started at church. We’ve been at church until at least 8:30pm every night since then! So WHEW definitely describes our lives right now. While we have been having a completely AWESOME time at church worshipping with Kari Jobe, Noah has been thrown completely OFF schedule! The first night of the revival we didn’t have childcare because we weren’t going to be there long. Noah decided that instead of worshipping, we should roam the halls of the church.

Looks like fun, right? Anywho, that’s what we’ve been up to lately. Now back to cupcakes…
