The sickies

The day before Christmas Noah developed a little cough. I didn’t think too much of it at the time. Christmas morning he seemed to be feeling ok. So after he played in his super cool tunnel,

Christmas

and played some more in his ball pit, (notice the static hair)

Christmas2

we headed to Brad’s parent’s house to spend some time with his side of the family. Once we spent an hour or so there, Noah started going downhill fast. His fever shot up and he became SO cranky. We rushed home to check his temp and it was 102.2!  FREAK OUT! So we gave him some Tylenol and a cold bath and put him to bed.

Monday morning, I was at the pediatrician’s office as soon as they opened. I figured that if I was there at 8:00am sharp, that we would be first! HAHAHAHA.

wait

And that was after half of the line had been checked in! I had to wait in the doorway when we first got there! Crazy! But even with all those people there, we were in and out in only an hour! Anyway, Noah has lost a little bit of weight and only weighed 22 lb 13 oz!

sick2

Poor baby! And the diagnosis? My baby’s first ear infection! His right ear. That combined with his sinuses draining-causing his nose to be stuffy and all kinds of junk running down the back of his throat, causing the cough-AND he’s trying to cut a tooth! So with the tooth cutting comes a runny nose. SO runny that yesterday it started bleeding because we’ve all been wiping it so much!

sick

I feel terrible for him and wish I could just take all his sickies away! He’s on an antibiotic now plus Tylenol for his fever. Being sick just completely wears him out and for the past two nights, he has been going to sleep at 5:45pm! And still sleeping until 6:30am.

Please pray for my sweet baby to feel better very very soon!

Christmas morning!

We had a FABULOUS Christmas with Noah this year! It’s funny how things change when you have a child. Brad and I were more excited to see Noah’s face on Christmas morning than anything else! And the favorite toy was…..

Christmas1

the ball pit! It was the first toy Noah went to when he crawled into the room! And if I can figure out how, I’ll post the video we took of him crawling in to see what Santa left him.

Christmas2

He got so many toys, he hasn’t even played with them all yet! Rotten!

Christmas4

Christmas6

He was not a fan of opening his presents though. He would much rather play with the pretty bows on the presents instead!

Christmas7

Christmas8

Noah and Daddy are so much alike!

Christmas3

We hope yall had a Merry Christmas too!

Christmas present from Noah

Yesterday, Brad called me after he picked Noah up from school and said that we had a present from Noah! I was SO excited! I have been waiting all year for him to bring home something he made or did!

After I got home, we all sat down and opened it up (who said we had to wait until Christmas?? NObody!). I seriously almost teared up a little!

Is that not the sweetest picture ever?!?

Happy 10 months Noah!

10 months

He’s so freakin cute!!! At 10 months:

  • Still in size 3 Pampers Cruisers
  • Weighs 24.2 pounds (I’m too lazy to try and figure out how  many ounces that is!)
  • Wearing 12-18 month clothing
  • Sleeps through the night…we are still following the bath, bottle, book routine and it works like a charm! I don’t even remember that last time we had to get up in the middle of the night! He barely even cries when we lay him down for the night!
  • Goes to bed around 7pm every night and wakes up around 6am

10 months 2

  • Has 6 teeth! With the most ADORABLE little gap between the top two!
  • FINALLY started drinking out of a sippy cup with the help of his nursery lady at church. We are working on completely weaning off the bottle.
  • We are working on the transition from baby food to table food. For breakfast he likes cheese grits and strawberry Nutrigrain bars. For lunch and dinner, the only table food he will eat enough of to get full is rice and refried beans. So we are trying to at least get him to eat #3 baby food, but he’s not too fond of that either.

10 months 3

  • New snacks include Apple Jacks, apple slices, and cheese
  • Knows how to drink out of our cups!
  • He has taken ONE step! I am so proud! And he is also standing alone for longer and longer! I think he will be walking by his birthday for sure!

10 months 4

  • Still taking two two hour naps a day, sometimes one four hour nap (at school, never at home!)
  • Eczema is still present and a little worse than normal because it’s winter. We are still trying our best to control it with 2% hydrocortizone cream.
  • Noah has officially found his package and MUST check on it at every diaper change and bath. Such a man.

10 months 5

  • Can say “Dada”, “Mama”, “Beh” which means Bella, and “hey” and knows the meaning of each word. He has also started repeating things we say! I was changing his diaper and knocked over his lotion and said “dangit!” then Noah said “day ih!” and smiled the biggest smile! Oops!

10 months 7

  • He loves to ‘help’ me fold clothes! It’s his new favorite thing!

10 months 8

Only two more months until Noah’s first birthday! I can’t believe how fast the past year has flown by! I am in full force party planning mode and I can’t wait to have everything come together!

Noah, we love you SO much and are so proud of you!

The look of terror

Last night we took Noah to see Santa Claus! We got to the mall just as Santa was going on break, but we knew he was about to so that was no big deal. We sat in the food court and fed Noah his supper and then walked around and window-shopped to kill time.

After running into several friends, we walked back to check the line for Santa and decided we better sit in line before it got too long. Noah has about as much patience as I do so after about 5 minutes of sitting there, he was ready to GO! We still had about 20 minutes before Santa came back, so we fed him Cheerio’s, watched the train in the middle of the mall, and played as much as we could. But it was still a battle!

Finally, Santa walks back in. I point to him and make a huge deal about him to Noah to pump him up. Noah smiled at Santa! I was so happy that he might actually like him! After the 3-4 families ahead of us had their pictures made, it was finally our turn. We slowly walked up to Santa and I told Noah who he was and that we were going to take his picture with him. I slowly sat him on Santa’s lap. He didn't cry or anything! Yeah!

BUT then he looked up at him, looked back at me, and then….they took the picture….

santa

and the screaming began! Noah screamed so hard he held his breath! I picked him up to try and console him but every time he glanced back and saw that scary guy, he would burst out in tears again! Poor baby!

(Sorry about the SUPER sucky quality! I took a picture of the picture because my scanner is being STUPID!)

In took a good five minutes after we left Santa for Noah to stop crying!

And to top it all off, his hair was acting funny, he had on a soaking wet diaper, his socks were dirty from crawling around at daycare and his size 12 month pants look like they are shorts! Plus the creepy Santa Claus is sticking his tongue out! And did I mention that the ONE picture we bought was $17?!?! That’s so freakin insane! But you HAVE to have a picture with Santa!

So there you go. We traumatized our son on his 10 month birthday! Maybe we’ll do better next year!
