Noah’s birthday party

Noah had a Thomas the Train themed birthday party (his choice, not mine!) at The Fun Factory!  It’s a local place that has big jumpy inflatables inside. He had SO much fun and so did all of his little friends! (He has talked about Thomas nonstop since Christmas when we got him his first train set, but at his birthday party all he would talk about was Bob the Builder!)

Before the party, he was not in the mood to take pictures, but I wanted to document his cute shirt that my friend made him!

Unfortunately, his eczema was acting up that day so that’s the red splotches you see on his little face. :(

…that was about the time that I got a lovely vinyl burn down my back from the super fast slide. Fun times!

They had a super big blow up chair for him to sit in to open his presents, but as soon as he opened his present from his Pop and Mimi, the rocking chair, he had to sit in it!

All in all, Noah had a blast so I’m adding another tally to my 101 in 1001 list to #41-Throw Noah an awesome birthday party!

On Noah’s birthday, April and I took cupcakes to his class for a little party!

How stinkin’ cute is he in his little birthday hat?!?!? He LOVES telling himself Happy Birthday! I swear he said it like 1200 times on his birthday!

Cupcakes are his love language. :)

I can’t believe my baby is 2!

Noah’s 20 questions

Each year around Noah’s birthday, I am going to ask him the same 20 questions. I think it will be so fun to go back and look and see how his answers change. I tried my best not to lead him in any direction when asking these questions, so I could get the most honest answer. I also want to add that EVERY time I asked him a question, he would say “Ummmmmmm….” and then answer! :) Noah’s answers are blue and the words in italics were added by Mommy!

1. What is your favorite color? He stared at me like I was crazy, so I said, “Is your favorite color red?” And he responded with “Yes”.

2. What is your favorite toy? “Shoe” His cookie monster, broom and vacuum

3. What is your favorite fruit? “Thank you” Apples, grapes

4. What is your favorite tv show? “There’s Daddy” Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Bill

5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? “To play” Chicken nuggets with ketchup

6. What is your favorite outfit? “Outfit? What’s this?” Anything with Mickey Mouse on it

7. What is your favorite game? “Little Bill” Where’s Noah?

8. What is your favorite snack? “To color” Cereal bars, cookies

9. What is your favorite animal? “Right there” Frog or monkey

10. What is your favorite song? “Zacchaeus” For once, I agree! It’s Zacchaeus! Or B-I-B-L-E

11. What is your favorite book? “Right there” The Foot Book

12. Who is your best friend? “Robin” Grey and Kenzie; Robin is my friend that keeps Noah a lot :)

13. What is your favorite cereal? “Munchie munch” Lucky Charms, which in Noah talk is Munchie munch!

14. What is your favorite thing to do outside? “I want to go outside please” Slide

15. What is your favorite drink? “Water” Chocolate milk

16. What is your favorite holiday? “Gobble gobble” I would’ve said Christmas but I guess it’s Thanksgiving!

17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? “My blankey” His blankey, a monkey, and usually a truck

18. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? “Grits” Or a waffle

19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday? “A baby sister” Ha. My guess is cookies, crackers and gummies!

20. What do you want to be when you grow up? “A monkey” Probably a singer or musician

So there you have it! :) I love that little boy!

3 parties, 1 weekend

Party #1

Friday night we went to our nephew’s birthday party at Tumbling Tides! Noah loves going there and we love that it wears him OUT! :)

The birthday boy is on the left. This is the best picture I could get of Noah with his cousins. He is not terrified, he’s saying cheese! Ha.

And I tried to get ONE decent picture with my husband, but he just couldn’t control himself. ;)

Party #2

Saturday, Noah’s friend from school (also our cousins!) had her birthday party at The Playhouse!

I didn’t even get a picture of the birthday girl before my camera died! But Noah had a blast sliding down the biggest slide in the place (of course). His favorite parts of the party were the cupcakes, gummies, candy, and the Mickey Mouse ears and balloon he got to take home!

And Sunday, our Bible Study class had a Super Bowl party!

I stuffed my face like it was my J O B. And I don’t think I watched a minute of the game!

NOW I have to get busy planning Noah’s party that is THIS weekend! I can’t believe he will be 2 on Thursday!    

New floors!

In my attempt to freshen the appearance of our home, we decided to replace our worn out carpet! I moved into our house 7 months before Brad and I got married, so it’s been lived in for 4 1/2 years. Add in a dog, a baby, a messy husband and not cleaning the carpet as often as we should have and that equals carpet begging to be replaced! You could see where we walked through the living room to get to the kitchen and where we sat in our recliners! (Please excuse my assistant.)

But I didn’t realize HOW bad the carpet was until we moved all the furniture out! YUCK!

GA-ROSS!!

We used a rubberized material for the flooring in the gym that looks JUST like real hardwood and I fell in love with it. So we decided to use the residential grade of that flooring. I’m not exactly sure what it’s called. It’s a cross between ceramic tile and vinyl….it’s hard like tile but it’s more forgiving and less breakable. And I LOVE it!

I originally decided I wanted to paint our kitchen cabinets an off white color, but now I’m starting to reconsider. I kind of like them dark against the light floor, plus our living room furniture is dark so it all goes together. I definitely want to get a darker kitchen table now, but we have been saving for a 6 seater table anyway.      

All in all, I am very pleased with the new look! I have also been working on repainting and stenciling my laundry room for a while now, so hopefully I can finish that up soon!

Girls Night

Last night, the girls in my ABS (adult bible study) group got together for a game night! The men got together to watch the national championship game and didn't invite us so we were due some husband-free kid-free time!

For the first hour...or maybe two...we all stuffed our faces on all the goodies we all brought. I brought a strawberry cake from Celebrations! So I ate that, a buffalo chicken dip, a pizza-y dip, a brownie, some fruit, and about 57 sausage balls. The diet is back on today. :)

And after eating so much that we were all miserable, we decided to play some games!

And I stayed up until midnight by heavily medicating myself with Diet Mountain Dew! I was so proud of myself.

And now it's 6:51am the next day and I'm awake because a sweet little boy is yelling "Get me out!! I want out!"

I love girl's nights with my buddies!
