Noah plays T-ball!

This spring we decided to let Noah try out baseball to see if he liked it. I would LOVE for him to grow up playing baseball, but more importantly, I want him to be involved in something that he really loves. So we are in the process of figuring out exactly what that something is!

This year, he played for the Braves. His t-ball team had nine other 3-4 year old boys. Noah was very stand-offish at first and didn’t even really want to practice with the other players. He liked hitting the ball and running, but when it wasn’t his turn or he had to stand in the outfield and wait for the ball to come his way, he got bored and wanted to do something else. Luckily, his Daddy helped coach and was always close by to guide him.

How cute are they?!?

As the season progressed, Noah started doing better and better. I think his favorite part about playing is running from base to base!

Here he is about to bat for the very first time!

So sweet! Next year, he will be able to play coach pitch. That makes me nervous! Aaaand I’m so behind in blogging that he had his LAST game last week! Our season was really short, but I’m glad he at least learned the basics of the game and had fun playing!

Next, we are thinking about letting him try karate! I was trying to explain to him what karate is and I said, “Well you do your hands like this and say YA! YA! and hit boards with your hands!” and he said, “Umm, that sounds like it’s gonna hurt…” Ha!

Cason-Four Months!

DSC04974

Yes my pictures are dark, no I do not know how to work my camera, yes I will eventually blog about something other than Cason. Smile  Life is just so busy right now with TWO kids! We are still adjusting. Winking smile

Here is what little C has been up to this month:

DSC04972

-We’ve moved up to size 2 Pampers Swaddlers.

-As of Monday, he weighs 15 lbs 3 oz and is 25 inches long. He’s in the 50%ile for height and weight and 75%ile for his head! It must be because he is so smart!

-We started feeding him rice cereal on Saturday and he loves it! We’ve been giving him probiotics for a while now by spoon so he was already used to that. We are also still putting gripe water in his day-time bottles.

DSC04975

-He still enjoys a paci, but only to fall asleep with. He discovered his thumb this month and tries to suck/chew on it when he can figure out how to get it in his mouth.

-He drinks 4-6 oz of formula at a time, usually about every 2-4 hours during the day. He has slept through the night a few times!! But most of the time, he wakes up once around midnight-2am to have a bottle.

DSC04977

-He is sleeping in his room now. Up until about a week or two ago, we swaddled him at night. But he has started trying to roll over (he can roll onto his side) and I was worried that he would roll to his stomach in the middle of the night and not have his arms free to hold his head up, so we stopped the swaddle.

-With all the pollen that’s been floating around and us being at the ballpark a lot (Noah is playing t-ball!), I’ve had to constantly suck stuff out of his nose with the bulb syringe and saline drops. He LOVES it and thinks it’s hilarious.

DSC04980

-He has grown a lot in the past month and his 3 month clothes are being stretched to the limits! We are transitioning into 6 month clothes now!

-He really is such a happy baby. You can just look at him and he smiles and coo’s!

-He is still going to daycare full time and we love it!

DSC04982

Likes: chewing on burp clothes, his taggie puppy and taggie blanket, his car toy that he can hold, his big brother, screaming for fun, his playmat, getting Mommy soaking wet during bathtime, having his diaper changed, waking up in the mornings, having his Daddy rock him to sleep, nap time with Mommy

Dislikes: being hungry, being left alone for longer periods of time, having his arms messed with

I love that he is getting bigger and showing more personality these days! He is so sweet and loving and we just love him to pieces!

Cason–Three months!

SONY DSC

He is getting so big!! Here is what Cason’s been up to this month:

-Size 1 Pampers Swaddlers

-Loves Avent paci’s (His Daddy will disagree and say he doesn’t like paci’s at all, but Mommy knows what’s up.)

cason 2

-Drinks about 4oz every 2-3 hours during the day and about 4oz every 2-4 hours at night. YES he still wakes up a LOT! Usually we put him down around 7 or 8pm and his first stretch of sleep is the longest. Most of the time, he sleeps four hours then and then will start going every two. But last night he had a SEVEN hour stretch for the first time! WOOT WOOT!

-Loves being swaddled to sleep, arms and all. If his arms are free, he swings them all over the place and bonks himself in the head and wakes up! And he also loves when we let him out of his swaddle in the mornings. He will stretch so big and smile! He’s definitely a morning person.

cason 3

-We finally have his gas issues under control! I put gripe water in his school bottles (or 5 bottles of the day if it’s the weekend) AND we give him probiotics every day. PS-probiotics are expensive but they work!

-In his one month at daycare, he has had RSV and a double ear infection AT THE SAME TIME. He took it like a champ though and is all better now!

SONY DSC

-We went to the doctor last Friday to recheck his ears and we found out that he now weighs 12 lb 14 oz!

-Still in 0-3 month clothes, along with some 3 month outfits

-He smiles ALL THE TIME. He loves to say “ooo’s”

SONY DSC

-Likes: taking a bath in the sink (he’s starting to enjoy kicking water everywhere too!), talking to his big brother, playing on his playmat, watching cartoons with his brother, sitting in his Bumbo, being talked to, snuggling with Mommy

-Dislikes: being hungry for more than 2.5 seconds

Party Time!

Since Noah’s birthday fell on Sunday this year, we decided we would let him celebrate on Friday with his friend’s at school. Brad and I took cupcakes and everyone LOVED it!

They had just woken up from nap…hence the crazy hair and sleepy eyes!

Cason-Two months!

Like sands through the hourglass…. Smile

004

Here is what little C has been up to this month:

-We went to the doctor for his 2 month check up last week. He weighs 10 lb 12 oz, is 22 1/2 inches long and his head circumference is 15 1/4 inches. He’s in the 10%ile for weight and 25%ile for height! Little squirt! He also had to get FIVE shots!

-Nicknames: C, moo moo or just moo, peanut, muffin or muffie , Noah calls him ‘little guy’

-He is still in size 1 diapers and we still favor Pampers Swaddlers.

008

-He can no longer fit in his newborn size clothing! We are in 0-3 month right now and he can wear some 3 month clothes, too!

-He started smiling REAL smiles this month! He will always smile if you practice saying “ooooo’s” with him. I’ve heard him laugh out loud twice, once at his play mat and once at me! Melt me! He has the sweetest, gummiest grin ever.

-He is SO GASSY. We switched him from Enfamil Newborn to Enfamil Gentlease last month and that helped for a while, but lately it doesn’t seem to be helping as much. I asked his doctor if we should switch him to the super expensive colic formula and she said no because he isn’t spitting up that much. She suggested we give him Gerber’s colic soothe drops (a probiotic) once a day. That helps some. We’ve also recently started putting gripe water in his bottles and that seems to be helping a LOT!

014

-He started school this month! Monday actually. His teacher sends me texts and pictures pretty much every day and I LOVE her for it! The first few days were tough on him because of his gas and I guess his teachers still needed to get to know him (meaning he is ROTTEN and wants to be held all the time!), but since we started the gripe water today, his teacher said he’s been fabulous! He also went in the church nursery for the first time.

-He eats 3-4 oz every 2-3 hours and will sometimes go 4 hours at night. We are praying for longer sleep stretches!

-His hair is still brown, but it started falling out and now is growing back a little lighter brown. And I think it’s safe to say that his eyes are turning brown too! I love looking into my boys’ eyes and seeing their Daddy! It’s my favorite.

010

-Likes: taking a bath, playing on his play mat, sitting up in the Bumbo but only for a few minutes, watching tv with his brother, snuggling, sneaking into Mommy and Daddy’s bed at night…, saying oooo’s, being worn in a wrap on Mommy

-Dislikes: getting OUT of the bath, being alone, being covered up, not getting a bottle in his mouth the exact second he decides he’s hungry Winking smile

-Noah loves him HARD! More than I ever expected. He has yet to show an ounce of jealousy and I couldn’t be prouder of big brother. He loves holding Cason, kissing him, laying beside him and talking to him.

007

I do miss the newborn days when he was so little, but I am also excited that he’s growing and getting a little more stable and squishy!

Mommy loves you, Cason!
