Check! #5

Not that anyone cares besides my husband and I BUT we just paid off our loan! Woot Woot! See?

zero

And the pretty awesome thing about it is the payment we were making is almost enough for Brad to be able to go to Honduras every year! He is so excited about that!

Someone else is pretty excited, too!

Honduras

So I didn’t say anything on the blog, but Brad was on a mission trip with our church to Honduras all last week! I’ve been on the trip three times and I’ve never been worried for my safety or anything like that. But for some reason I was SOOO stressed and worried with Brad being down there. I cried ALL DAY the Saturday that he left. It was awful. Luckily, I had someone to keep me company though.

Noah asked for his Daddy so much while he was gone. How do you explain that to a one year old? After we made it through the first day, the rest of the week went by pretty quickly, thank the LORD!

The team had to fly from Honduras to Atlanta, then to Birmingham this past Saturday. Our best friends just recently moved to Atlanta so I drove over early Saturday morning to be able to surprise Brad over in Atlanta that night when they flew in! As soon as he landed, he text me to let me know they had landed safely. Then he asked for me to send him a picture of me and the baby so he could see what we were doing. Busted! So I sent him this picture…

I wish I could have seen his face once he realized I was in Atlanta! So not only did I get to see him four hours earlier (the rest of the team flying into Bham had a long layover), but we also got to hang out with our awesome friends!

I am SO glad to have my hunny back! I missed him so much!

A day in the life-Wednesday

Here it is! Try not to be too bored by my super long post! And just for the record, this is not our typical Wednesday. Our church doesn’t have Wednesday night activities during the summer! Otherwise we would be at church from 5-8:30pm!

I had my alarm set for 5:30am so that I could get up early and fix my hair cute. When 5:30am rolled around, I decided I would much rather have 30 minutes of sleep than cute hair for the day. So I reset my alarm for 6:00am.

I finally got up at 6am and got ready for the day. At 6:20am, I went in the kitchen and fixed Noah some milk and a waffle. Then I went to get him up out of bed. He didn’t want to get up until I reminded him that there was a waffle waiting for him. :) I sat him in his highchair with breakfast and put on an episode of Little Bill so that I could finish getting ready. I let Bella outside, and packed Noah’s lunch and bag for the day. At 6:40am, I dressed Noah and brushed his hair. He insisted on brushing his teeth WITH toothpaste. :) We woke Daddy up for bye-bye kisses and loaded up in the car. We hit the road at 6:50am.

7:00am I dropped Noah off at my friend Robin’s house. Daycare is closed for the week. He LOVES Robin and as we were in her driveway, Noah kept saying he wanted to go for a ride in the buggy (stroller). Once we got inside, he changed his mind and decided he needed to eat breakfast again. I gave him kisses and headed to work.

7:15am I’m at work and cherishing my 45 minutes of alone time that I get a day. I drank my morning Mountain Dew, balanced my checkbook, did my daily Bible study and prepared for the work day ahead.

8:00-10:00am I rode around with my helper, Laura, and we checked on a few jobs/workers to make sure things were going as planned, and we knocked on a few doors for tenants that owe rent.

10:00am- My sister and I had to interview a potential maintenance person. Fun times.

10:30am-The current maintenance man calls and needs to go to Lowe’s. I walk outside and see a nail in my tire. Fabulous! So I drop the car off at the tire place and April takes me to Lowe’s. We get back to the office and have a company meeting with our Dad.

11:00am-Lunchtime!! We ate at our new favorite spot-Taziki’s. It was yummy, as expected. Afterwards, we made a quick stop in Kirkland’s and picked up a couple of cupcakes at GiGi’s. Then the tire place called and said my car was ready so April dropped me off to pick it up.

I got back to the office around 12:20ish and worked on some paperwork until 2pm when I had to go meet a subcontractor at a vacant rental house. We met, discussed some things about the house, then I headed back to the office and arrived around 3pm. I did MORE paperwork until 4:45pm when we all left work for the day!

I had to run an errand before heading home so I didn’t get home until 5:15pm. I walked in the door and gave everyone kisses. (Brad gets off work before me, so he picked up Noah.) I heated up some leftover spaghetti and baked some bread, then cut up some grapes for Noah to eat along with his spaghetti. We sat down for dinner around 5:30pm. Noah was not a huge fan of the spaghetti but he at least tried it and ate a few bites. He devoured his grapes and bread! Brad and I talked about our day and we finished eating around 5:50pm.

Then Noah, Bella and I went for a walk around the neighborhood while Daddy cut the grass! We got back home around 6:20pm…just in time to put jammies on before the Wheel! We watched Wheel of Fortune for a bit, then we played…

until 7:00pm. Then it was bedtime for Noah! We laid him down then I decided I needed to bake some cookies! As I was doing that, Brad went over his Publix receipt with me, telling me what allllllll he bought with his coupons! :)

At 8:00pm, we got in bed and watched the new episode of Teen Mom (don’t hate)! I tried my very best to stay awake and watch the next show that came on at 9pm, but by 9:15pm, I was out!

So there you go! A typical day in my life! I hope you enjoyed it and two gold stars for you if you are still reading!

Our 4th weekend

We had a full fun-filled weekend! Friday night, we had some friends over for dinner. I so should have taken a picture for the blog, but between our yummy food and riveting game of dominoes, I forgot.

Saturday, we tried to be as lazy as possible. We ended up taking a trip across town to Target to try and find a blackout curtain for Noah’s room. Right now, it is ghetto-fabulously tin-foiled up because he can’t nap if there is daylight coming in. Brad and I swear that there is something in the air at our Target that makes kids go psycho within 10 minutes of entering. Noah was acting fine, playing with a ball, relaxing in a chair…

…then BOOM! He started crying and pitching a FIT. So we hurried on out the door and back home.

Something broke his face out and his legs were looking more broke out than normal. I am considering talking to his pediatrician about allergy testing. Any thoughts?

Anywho, on Sunday we went to church and I tried my best to get a cute picture with Noah.

Super blurry….thanks iPhone.

Church was fabulous, as usual. Afterwards we had lunch with my Big Mama and then a nice loooooong afternoon nap!

For the 4th, Brad had to work half a day so we didn’t get to do much other than clean and lay around the house. But the extra day off work was pretty nice for me! :)

So it’s a day late but Happy 4th of July!

Wheel, coupons, randoms

Hi friends! So I’m happy to report that Noah’s spots cleared up in time to go to church on Father’s Day! Yay! Unfortunately, he also spread his hand-foot-mouth at daycare. :( But we’re all better now!

Things have been super busy at work. They have been busy since the tornado. Hopefully things will start to slow down within the next month.

Noah has always loved Wheel of Fortune, but now he screams out at the tv when it’s on…like he’s solving the puzzle, in baby jabber. Cutest thing EVER!

Also, we store a lot of Noah’s playroom toys in old laundry baskets or old diaper boxes. Noah’s new favorite thing to do is dump out alllllll of the little toys inside and play with the box/basket. This makes for a fun time for his OCD Mommy that likes everything to be in it’s place. :)

And in Daddy news, for Father’s Day Noah gave Brad a coupon binder. Brad’s obsessed with coupons these days. In fact, he has decided that he’s going grocery shopping once a week now…just to get a better deal. More power to him, I’m all about saving money, I’m just too lazy to learn how to coupon! He’s probably going to divorce me for putting this picture on the blog…

Everyone in the bloggy world seems to be posting a day-in-the-life series. I’m thinking about trying to do it too! I like reading about how other moms spend their day. Hopefully, I’ll have time to actually write down what I’m doing throughout the day!

Sick, yet again

I really think Noah has been sick more in the last two months than he has his entire little life!! Hence my pathetic blogging!

So Monday I took Noah to school (Praise the LORD summer school started). I noticed a few bumps on his legs, but as always assumed it was eczema. We went to an outside birthday party Saturday so it didn’t seem out of the ordinary for him to be broken out. His school called me that afternoon to tell me that it looked like the bumps were spreading into more of a rash. I went and picked him up and decided to call the doctor to see if they wanted to see him. THEN I remembered that I gave Noah some Pediasure on Sunday morning and he broke out the last time I gave him Pediasure (but we thought that was from his penicillin allergy). I mentioned that I thought Noah was having an allergic reaction to the Pediasure and they assured me that as long as he wasn’t having breathing problems, that I could give him Benadryl and he should be fine.

So Tuesday I took Noah to school. At 9am his school called and said the rash seemed to be spreading again. I picked him up and decided to just take him to the doctor so that they could lay eyes on him and we could get a better diagnosis.

We didn’t get to see Noah’s regular doctor, so we saw another doctor in the practice (that I’m not all that fond of). First, he told us that it looked like Noah had been bitten by fleas. Seriously?!? I had to hold myself back from slapping the man. Noah had some spots in his mouth, too. I guess all of our fleas just crawled into Noah’s mouth and bit his tongue, too. Idiot.

We left the doctor’s office still thinking he was allergic to Pediasure. I decided that since the spots look a little funky, I would take off work Wednesday and stay home with Noah. Then I noticed a blister-looking spot on one of Noah’s fingers. Then I started worrying about hand-foot-mouth disease. I religiously started checking his feet to make sure he didn’t have any blisters. I checked at 4:00pm…nothing. I checked again at 4:45pm…THREE blisters on the bottom of one foot!! FREAKIN HAND FOOT MOUTH!!!!!! I did a little facebook research and realized that a little boy in Noah’s church nursery class had it too. Bingo.

SOOOOOOOO that’s been our week. Luckily my FABULOUS friend has been watching Noah for me so I can actually get a little bit of work done. He is slowly starting to look better, thank the Lord.

(That picture was really from last Sunday, but he just looked so cute!) I reallllllllllllly hope his spots are all gone by Sunday so that we can all go to church together for Father’s Day!
