Thanksgiving!

This month, I have been a blog slacker! Nothing super exciting has happened. We are just living life and packing up our house to get ready for the big move. Which is SATURDAY! The house is being cleaned today and we just have a couple of finishing touches to get done this week. Here is the latest picture…it was taken at a weird time of day so you can’t really see it good because of the shadow! I will try to get a better picture today!

Let’s see…oh yeah, I voted!

I attended my niece’s Thanksgiving feast at her school.

photo 7

Brad and I went to the Alabama vs Texas A&M game….I guess we were bad luck. Sad smile But I did really enjoy the half time show!

photo 8

Noah has been busy too! We are working really hard on the potty training right now. We are making progress…it’s slow, but he’s getting better!

photo 9

I introduced him to Christmas Tree Cakes! For some reason, he thinks they are called ‘pancakes’ and will ARGUE YOU DOWN if you try to correct him. He thinks they are delicious, but he also likes to squish them up between his fingers. All boy!

photo 1

He likes to walk around the house in our shoes, too and I caught him wearing my 5 inch heels this past weekend. That’s talent for a two year old! With no pants… ha!

Moving on to Thanksgiving!

Thursday, we spent the day at Brad’s parent’s house with his side of the family. I am horrible about taking family pictures. I don’t have a single picture of just the three of us, but I did hold Noah down for 2.4 seconds to take this photo!

photo 3

He had so much fun running around and playing with his cousins! He fell asleep fast at nap time!

photo 4

Then on Saturday, we went to my sister’s house to eat and watch the Iron Bowl! I was too busy stuffing my face to remember to take any pictures, but thankfully one of my nephews loves taking pictures with my phone and caught one picture of our festivities!

photo 5

I also found 4 pictures of my nieces painted fingernails and toes on my phone. Crazy girl!

So there was our November! And if you aren’t doing anything Saturday morning, let me know! We have a lot of stuff to move! Smile

Halloween

Meet my little train conductor!

fall festival 7

Sunday, we went to the fall festival at our church and Noah was a show-stopper, as usual! He rode his Thomas around for about 10 minutes and then he was over it. Smile

Seriously. Could the child look any more like his Daddy??

Are you tired of my pictures yet? Smile

Last night we went to church while the kids had a costume ball and tons of fun games!

I love that he is so serious about painting that pumpkin!

After church, we met up with the fam to trick or treat! Noah got the hang of it quickly since he had his older cousins there to show him the ropes. He had SO much fun!

And now it’s November! Whew!

Fall festivities

This weekend, we spent a lot of time packing boxes!

moving

We are still shooting to move before Thanksgiving!

We also decided to FINALLY get in the fall spirit and carved a pumpkin! I just knew Noah would be so excited to stick his hands in the pumpkin and get all messy.

Noah tried to help Daddy cut the top off the pumpkin.

But then Daddy decided that he was going to do this the redneck way and brought out the Dremel…

As soon as Brad took the top off the pumpkin, Noah ran over and peeked inside and said, “Oh look at those butterflies in there! They are so cute!” I have no idea about that one.

He stuck his hand in one time.

And would not touch it again because he “didn’t want his hands to get yucky”.

But he is in LOVE with the finished pumpkin. He asks to check on him every day!

And speaking of FALL, yesterday when we were leaving church, we were walking to the car and apparently my heel slipped off the sidewalk so I started tumbling forward and ended up splatting on the asphalt in the parking lot! I broke my FAVORITE pair of heels, tore up my pants, messed up my hand and my pedicure and tore up my knee! Thankfully we left church a little later than everyone else so I don’t think anyone saw me!

Here are pictures of my knee yesterday and then today!

FALL

It hurts so bad!

We also had our annual Fall Festival at church yesterday, but this post is already running long so I will post about it (hopefully) tomorrow! Smile

Parties and such

My oldest nephew turned 10 this past week, so we celebrated his birthday at the McWane Science Center in Birmingham!

griffin bday 1

In the party room, the kids got to pet different reptiles. Noah fearlessly touched each one!

There was also a tarantula….I HATE spiders. Like with every fiber of my being. And which animal was Noah’s favorite? You guessed it. He was so disappointed when they wouldn’t let him take it out of the cage.

And since Griffin was the birthday boy, he got to hold one animal of his choosing. He chose the snake!

griffin bday 8

After we had cake and ice cream and opened presents, it was time to explore the place! Noah had never been there before (and I haven’t been in several years) so he had a lot of fun! The very first thing he ran to play with was the train tracks, of course!

griffin bday 9

He LOVES trains. And Thomas.

griffin bday 10

Next, we uncovered dinosaur bones. Noah wasn’t too crazy about that activity because the “dirt” kept getting in his shoes and hurting his feet.

griffin bday 3

We chased him around from exhibit to exhibit to exhibit!

Needless to say, he slept hard that night! (And so did I!)

So have you seen the idea on Pinterest of putting a glow stick in the bath tub for extra fun? We tried it and it was a HUGE success!

glow stick

Could that smile be any bigger? We have been freezing the glow stick after bath each night and it is still glowing!

Noah has also mastered the art of taking self portraits with my iPhone. I frequently find these pictures…

I sure do love that sweet boy!

And a house update!

shingles

This picture was taken while they were putting on the shingles. They have since finished the brick work and are supposed to start putting up the vinyl siding and sheetrock this week! We really need to get to packing! It won’t be long now!

The Color Run

So Saturday, my little family and my sister’s fam all got together and ran walked The Color Run! We had SO MUCH FUN!

Here we are before the race:

How cute are we?!?

I was too scared to take my iphone with me during the race so I didn’t get any pictures of us actually in the race. But we got plenty of before and after!

color run 5

Here we are after the race, but before the big color throwing at the end.

color run 3

After the race, the runners gather together and everyone throws up some color at the same time. It was an awesome experience!

My boys after the big color throw:

And our whole crew!

I scrubbed my hair and arms about 4 times before most of the color came off! We had a blast and I can’t wait to do it again next year!
