16 weeks

SONY DSC

How far along? 16 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: Up 3 pounds. No weight gain this week!

Maternity clothes: Mostly.

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: Waking up a lot to tinkle. And I keep having nightmares that wake me up.

Best moment this week: Hearing my sweet baby’s heartbeat! 152 bpm. It took the nurse forever to find it, so that was a little unnerving…but she eventually found it.

Movement: I’m still feeling the baby pretty much every day, but not as often as I was? Maybe it’s because I have been so busy this week.

Food cravings/aversions: Brad and I were walking through the grocery store this week and I eyed some chocolate milk that looked delicious! I don’t even like milk. I still haven’t drank any yet, but it’s sitting in my fridge waiting on me. :)

Gender: Still thinking boy

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: Flattening

What I miss: Nothing really right now. I’m finally feeling good enough to enjoy this pregnancy!

What I am looking forward to: Gender ultrasound on July 12th! If this baby is a girl, I will probably pass out!

Weekly wisdom: Even though you feel like death warmed over in the first trimester, you WILL feel better eventually! I promise!

Milestone: Inching closer to the halfway mark! This pregnancy is flying by!

15 weeks

SONY DSC

How far along? 15 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: Up 3 pounds. I’m getting a little nervous that I seem to be gaining a pound a week. :/

Maternity clothes: I put on a pre-pregnancy shirt this morning, looked in the mirror, and realized my belly was hanging out of the bottom. I guess I need to start retiring my non-maternity clothes.

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: Good, other than waking up 5 times a night to pee!

Best moment this week: Saturday we had such a fun family day. Swimming at the pool, spending time with friends, a long afternoon nap, shopping at the mall, then dinner together. I love days that we get to relax and enjoy each other!

Movement: A lot more movement this week. I’m eating it up!

Food cravings/aversions: I can’t think of anything in particular this week that I absolutely had to have.

Gender: Still thinking boy

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: Still in, but it looks like a big gaping hole

What I miss: RED BULL. I would settle for just a small sip at this point. My mouth is watering…

What I am looking forward to: My doctor’s appointment this week

Weekly wisdom: Don’t drink a ton of water before bed if you intend to actually sleep that night. Lesson learned the hard way!

Milestone: Definitely feeling movement on a daily basis now!

14 weeks

SONY DSC

How far along? 14 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: Up two pounds

Maternity clothes: A little of both. I’m definitely in maternity pants now, but I can still wear some of my regular shirts.

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: About the same

Best moment this week: I can’t think of one particular thing…it’s been a good week all around!

Movement: Every once in a while I feel the baby. I’m ready for some kicks though!

Food cravings/aversions: This week I’ve been craving muffins and Gushers.

Gender: Probably boy

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In but flattening

What I miss: Red Bull and a cold turkey sandwich

What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move more and my next doctor’s appointment

Weekly wisdom: People love to rub a pregnant belly. :)

Milestone: 14 weeks always feel like the magical number. Things start to feel more real and definite at 14 for some reason.

13 weeks

SONY DSC

How far along? 13 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: Up one pound, but the belly is definitely pooching! :)

Maternity clothes: Some maternity, some regular. I have gotten to the point where I can’t stand the Bella Band. It drives me insane, riding up or falling down.

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: Better than last week. If I make myself stay up until at least 8pm, I sleep a lot better.

Best moment this week: Doing pretty much nothing all week. Lots of rest!

Movement: I feel him at night right before bed, sometimes.

Food cravings/aversions: I have been craving boiled peanuts ALL WEEK. I finally got some yesterday! And watermelon.

Gender: 99% sure he’s a BOY!

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In but flattening

What I miss: Red Bull and a cold turkey sandwich

What I am looking forward to: Feeling more like my normal self. I’m hoping that as I get further into my second trimester, the weird preggy symptoms will go away. This past week I have had horrible, horrible gas pains high up in my stomach. I think that since my uterus is moving up and out, my intestines are getting mushed around and so the air inside is trapped and has no where to go! I contemplated going to the hospital this weekend to make sure my placenta wasn’t tearing away or something. It was very painful! Luckily, laying flat in a warm bath seemed to help.

Weekly wisdom: NEVER make a tuna sandwich in the same house as your pregnant wife if you want to live to see the next day!! (This is for you, sweetheart. Love you!)

Milestone: Second trimester, maybe? I can’t ever figure out if it starts at 13 or 14 weeks.

12 weeks

12 weeks

Notice my pretty arm? That’s what happens when you don’t properly apply sunscreen. :/

How far along? 12 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: Up one pound!

Maternity clothes: I finally started wearing some maternity jeans and shirts this week. I forgot how AWESOME maternity jeans are!

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: AWFUL. I don’t know what happened, but I haven’t been sleeping good at all. I toss and turn all night and my vivid dreams have turned into nightmares! And I keep waking up really hot?

Best moment this week: Finally getting to see our sweet baby on the ultrasound!

Movement: Yes! I definitely feel the baby now! 99% of the time, it’s when I am laying down. LOVE it!

Food cravings/aversions: We went to the beach this past weekend for Memorial Day and I usually LOVE seafood, but after I had crab claws one night, I really didn’t want it anymore. Also, the smell of McDonald’s french fries makes me gag. I haven’t really been craving any one thing in particular this week, just sour foods in general.

Gender: Pretty sure it’s a BOY! At our ultrasound last week, the tech said that she doesn’t normally call it so early but she was pretty sure she saw a little something and she thinks it’s a boy! :)

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: Stretching out. Gross.

What I miss: Red Bull and a cold turkey sandwich

What I am looking forward to: Feeling stronger kicks!

Weekly wisdom: Maternity jeans are your friend!

Milestone: First heart rate was 156 (found with the doppler), second (two days later, found with ultrasound) was 170! First ultrasound done and everything looks fantastic!

So here is our little peanut! He was doing some serious dance moves in there!

baby 11 weeks

And here is the money shot! It’s kind of hard to see here, but his legs are pointed up and his feet are together. The arrow is pointing to the goods. :)

boy 11 weeks

Just a few more weeks and we will get to see if the tech was right! I’m pretty convinced at this point. I’ve felt like the baby was a boy the whole time. Plus the Intelligender results and now the ultrasound! So exciting!

11 weeks

SONY DSC

How far along? 11 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: I thought for sure I gained this week, but I’m still the same.

Maternity clothes: I wear my Bella Band every day, otherwise I wear my regular clothes.

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: Good, but sometimes I wake up around 1am wide awake and it takes me a little bit to go back to sleep.

Best moment this week: Feeling a little better.

Movement: Sometimes I think I may feel something, but it’s probably just gas. :)

Food cravings/aversions: I’m not craving any one thing in particular, but when I want something, I want it now! This week I craved bagel bites. And pickles are still really good.

Gender: Probably boy

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In, but flattening

What I miss: Spending time with my family instead of in the bed!

What I am looking forward to: Our ultrasound on Friday!

Weekly wisdom: I’m fresh out!

Milestone: Inching closer to the second trimester. I’m finally feeling a little less sick!

So I went out and bought an Intelligender last week. If you don’t know what that is…it’s a gender prediction test. You just pee in the little cup and swoosh it around. It turns green if you are having a boy and orange if you are having a girl. I bought one with Noah and it turned out to be right! This time it said…

intelligender

So now I’m pretty convinced that we are having a boy! :)

10 weeks

SONY DSC

How far along? 10 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: Still the same!

Maternity clothes: Bella Band. I am starting to have to carefully choose my shirts, though. The belly combined with growing ‘girls’ are making my shirts fit funny.

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: Still really good. Still having the vivid dreams. And still really tired, but I feel like that’s improving a little.

Best moment this week: Finally getting a prescription to help with my nausea! Hallelujah!

Movement: None. But I can’t wait!

Food cravings/aversions: I started craving pickles within the last week or so. Isn’t it so strange how some foods just taste so much better when you are pregnant? I’ve also been eating a lot of saltine crackers this week, but mainly because that was the only thing that didn’t make me want to puke.

Gender: Now I’m starting to think maybe a girl? Only because I’ve been so sick. I honestly don’t think I’d even know what to do with a girl, though!

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In

What I miss: Not being nauseous all the time

What I am looking forward to: Our first ultrasound in two weeks!

Weekly wisdom: Marry a good husband that can take care of you, the house, the other kids. You will need him! My husband has been a ROCK STAR!!

Milestone: Having my first prenatal appointment. It definitely feels more real now!
