Taking Noah to the doctor’s office is always an adventure. They put you in a small room and leave you in there for 20-45 minutes to wait for the doctor. Those are not good numbers when a 1 year old is involved.
In the waiting room (before being taken back to the small room), we ate raisins, rearranged the yellow chairs and read books.
Then we were escorted to the small room. Noah weighs 24 lb 13oz (75%), 29 3/4 inches long (75%) and has a head circumference of 19 in (95%). And just in case you didn’t know, 12 month check ups include a toe prick.
Noah was too busy trying to flirt with the nurse and ‘patting her a cake’ to even notice the toe prick! Hallelujah!
After the nurse left us, we had to wait on the doctor. So we played with the super-fun paper.
After he completely ripped the paper to shreds, he decided that it was time for a bottle.
And speaking of the bottle, next weekend they are going bye bye for good! Cold turkey!
After two shots in one leg and one shot in each arm, my little man was completely exhausted.
How pitiful is that?? The good news is that he hasn’t been in a bad mood or acted like he was hurting at all since then! So that’s good.
I’ve also just realized that I didn’t do Noah’s 12 month photo session and update. He is having professional pictures made this weekend so I’ll count that as his 12 month pictures! Here is his update:
- Wearing 12-18 month clothing
- Still in size 3 Pampers Cruisers and probably will be in them a while
- Has 8 teeth, 4 on top and 4 on bottom
- Can say Mama, Dada, Daddy, Beh (Bella), ba-tull (bottle), bakkull (waffle), bye-bye, no, goo gull (good girl), those are the words he says regularly without prompting, but he can also repeat anything you say
- Eating table food is still a battle. He will eat chicken nuggets, apples, bananas, strawberries, rice and beans and the usual snacks but that’s pretty much it. He just likes baby food. We keep offering different foods but he refuses them. Any ideas??
- Still sleeping through the night like a champ. We struggle to keep him awake until 6:30pm and I wake him up at 6:30am. Sometimes he wakes up before then but he just plays in his crib until I come get him. And on the weekends he will usually sleep in until 7:30am.
- He rarely ever crawls anymore. He is a professional walker now :)
- He wears size 3 shoes, but we are going this weekend to get him new shoes because the 3’s are getting a little small
- Still taking two 2 hour naps or one 4 hour nap a day
- Has major attitude issues lately. He is really testing his boundaries and we have really been trying really hard to enforce those boundaries with him. I have been contemplating not going out to eat for a while with him until we get these issues under control. Thankfully, this too shall pass!
- LOVES taking a bath even moreso now that he has new bath toys to play with!
- That kid knows more people than I do. We attend a really big church so it’s almost impossible to know everyone there. Noah and I will be walking down the hall at church and people (that I don’t know) will stop and say, “Hey Noah! How are you?” And he smiles and babbles something back. So cute!
I can’t believe how fast time flies. I love my little boy SO SO SO much!
PS-Triple gold star if you actually read all that! :)

Looks like you had fun waiting at the doctor's office!! :-) Poor kiddo with all those shots. Drake only got two (and no toe prick) at his 12 month. Glad he is healthy and doing well!
Allison he is so cute and he is champ on going to the doctor like that. Zoey cried from the toe prick to all four shots and then all the way home. He is so adorable! Can't believe how much they grow up and how quick!
