Friday morning, our little family of three headed east to Atlanta to visit our friends for the weekend. I was super nervous about the (supposed to be) four hour car ride there because the last time we travelled to the beach (also a four hour car ride) with Noah was disastrous. I planned out plenty of stops along the way to stretch legs, change diapers, etc. Our first pit stop was at my happy place.
Did you just hear the angels singing the Hallelujah Chorus? Because I’m pretty sure I did. I haven’t been to the Hob Lob since before the tornado took ours away back in April! It was a fabulous first stop.
We also stopped at McDonald’s and had lunch, praying secretly that with a full belly Noah would for sure take his nap in the car. Ha. Ha. HA!!
He cried and he cried and he cried and he CRIED. Seriously about 75% of the trip over he cried and whined. Then he fell asleep for 15 minutes, woke up and continued crying. He hated being confined in his car seat and I’m wondering if he is getting a little motion sickness too. And we ended up getting in bumper-to-bumper traffic which made our 4 hour car trip turn into a 6 hour car trip! EEEEKKK!!! It was loads of fun for everyone.
Moving on. Saturday we went to the Atlanta Zoo and Noah loved it!
The ‘buds’
You can’t see the elephant (‘effy’) in the picture, but he was definitely Noah’s favorite animal!
The stinky warthogs. Doesn’t he look thrilled?
He really did have fun. I promise!
The zoo also had a petting area with goats and pigs that Noah LOVED!
Funny story. This goat was intently chewing on a piece of wood, so Noah decided it must taste pretty good. So he decided to try it.
We had a super fun time with our friends and the car ride back was much less eventful! However, we decided that Noah will no longer be traveling with us until he is 18. ;)
