Big boy bed

After much deliberation (mostly in my head. ha!) we decided to transition Noah from his crib to a toddler bed last night! Initially, I thought that we would wait until he started trying to crawl out of his crib before we converted, but we want to start potty training soon so I figured he would need to be able to get out of his crib for that. Plus I just felt like he was ready for it, so we did it! We were going to convert his bed Sunday afternoon, but it was obviously still daylight and I figured he would be more apt to stay in his bed if it was dark. So we waited until Monday night so he could have all week to get used to the idea of his big boy bed, before Saturday and Sunday naps take place!

Here he is Sunday night, his last night in the baby crib!

He has always slept with his head on the right side of the crib, so that’s why we put the little rail there. So after we put him down last night, we hovered over the baby monitor to hear what he was doing. At one point, we heard him say “I wanna check the mail!” so we figured he was up and looking out of his window at the mailbox. But around 8pm-ish we snuck in to check on him and he was passed out with his head hanging off the left side of the bed! I tried my best not to freak out (we laid pillows down on the floor just in case). But when I went in his room this morning to wake him up…

He was back in his usual spot! I’m so glad he has made the switch easily! Hopefully he will continue to stay in his bed!

I’m thinking about letting Noah get used to his big boy bed for a few weeks and then we are having potty training boot camp at our house! Yippee!

That's wonderful! So glad the first night went well. Hopefully it will continue for you (and Noah)!

I can't wait to hear about potty training. Drake's been going on the potty for a while, but we haven't pushed it. Reading this makes me wonder if we should, but I'm just not sure.
