Our weekend

We had a very busy Father’s Day weekend. And as I type that, I just realized that we didn’t take a SINGLE picture of Brad and Noah for Father’s Day. Bad mother I am! But I digress….

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Noah attended his third birthday party (not HIS third birthday, but his third party to attend!).

Of course he had to have his two favorite toys with him at all times…his butterfly and his BIB!

And he had to take a short nap.

“Did you say CAKE?!?!”

And Noah’s new favorite game is to lay upside down off the edge of your legs. That will keep him occupied for at least 10 minutes!

And we spent some time with our newest friend, Aisley. Isn’t she so cute?!?

And THEN after the party, we took Noah swimming for the very first time. He loved it….for about 2 minutes. But what’s new, huh?

“Seriously Mom? Seriously??”

This was taken within the two minutes of liking the pool!

We are pooped! And this is totally off subject, but just so I can remember…so far we have mastered eating rice cereal (hates), green beans (loves), squash (loves), rice cereal with apple (will tolerate), applesauce (favorite!), and we are currently working on peas (pretty much hates).

I love the stage we are in. Noah is big enough to tote around on my hip and he is my little sidekick. He loves his Mommy and is starting to show preference for me…meaning when he gets tired or something is not quite right, he wants his Mommy and I LOVE IT! :o) And that’s not to say that he doesn’t love his Daddy, but little boys have a special bond with their Mommy’s!

Hope yall have a great week this week!

Improvising 101

When your four month old baby wakes up at 5:00am for the day and you are trying to get ready for work, what do you do?

First, you put him in the bed to watch cartoons. If he still cries, put him in his carseat in the floor where you are. Give him a few toys. If he STILL cries….IMPROVISE!

6-15-10

Put that crying baby in the SINK! That way he can be closer to you and look at himself in the mirror!

6-15-10 2

You are welcome!

Four months

Look who is already four months old!! Here is what Noah has been up to this past month:

4 months 5

  • In size 2 diapers-Pampers Swaddlers. I HATE Huggies with a passion.
  • Wearing size 3-6 month clothing
  • Weighs 16 lb 11 oz…95th percentile for weight! Hubba hubba!
  • Drinks 5-7 oz during the day, has 2 tbsp of cereal for breakfast and a jar of baby food at dinner
  • Lately he’s been waking up twice a night and eating 4.5-7 oz each time he wakes up
  • He is getting closer and closer to holding his bottle. He wants to hold it so bad!

4 months 3

  • Still likes his bath, I don’t think he loves it anymore. He still kicks and splashes but he never cracks a smile!
  • He loves his Bumbo seat for about 10-15 minutes but I doubt he will be using it much longer because his legs are almost too fat to fit in it anymore!
  • Has said “Mama” three times! I can’t get him to say it on command, he just says it when he wants to!
  • Still loves chewing…his hands mainly but he also loves to chew his burp cloth or rings

4 months 4

  • Has started going to a babysitter (a good friend of mine, Brooke) three days a week. One full day and two half days. I’m glad we are easing into the transition of moving to daycare in August!
  • So far we have eaten rice cereal and green beans. Tomorrow we are trying squash!
  • LOVES tv, especially ESPN…
  • His hair has days that it will lay down and days that it is as crazy as ever

4 months 2

  • He loves just laying in the floor and kicking his legs. He will do it for like 30 minutes!
  • He is SOOO close to rolling over from his back to his belly. He can roll the lower half of his body over but not the top half.
  • He loves his Mommy and follows my every move with his eyes!
  • Mommy and Daddy love you to pieces Wo!

Green beans it is!

6-9-10

Noah LOVES green beans. I’m talking LOOOOVES them, almost as much as he loves me. He even opens his mouth for them! I can’t shove it in fast enough.

But since we’ve started the green beans, he has decided that he doesn’t particularly care for rice cereal anymore! Hmmm….

Happy four month birthday Noah! Pictures and a post to come soon!

Rice cereal-a little gift from God!

So last Wednesday after we got the go-ahead from Noah’s pediatrician, we fed him rice cereal for supper.

cereal 003

At first he just ate it like he had done it a million times before!

Then he thought I must have poisoned him.

cereal 009

Then he liked it again.

cereal 011

He has been doing fabulously with it ever since. He eats 2 tbsp of rice cereal mixed with about an ounce of formula for breakfast and dinner. And sometimes he finishes the 3.5 ounces left in the bottle we used!

cereal 014

Friday, he took TWO two hour naps during the day AND slept allllll night. It was a glorious day. We messed up his new sleep schedule by staying at a friend’s house until midnight Saturday night….but we are hoping for better luck tonight!

I see now why people want to give it to their babies early. The stuff is MAGICAL!! (Though I’m glad we waited.)

cereal 012

This coming week….a vegetable! Suggestions? I’ve heard to do a green veggie first, I’ve heard an orange veggie, I’ve heard SCREW veggies and try applesauce and fruit! What did yall do first after rice cereal?

Noah’s 4 month check up

6-2-10 2

We just go back from the doctor. Noah did pretty well getting his four shots and oral vaccine. He weighed 16 lb 11 oz (95% hubba hubba!) and was 25 1/2 inches long (75%).

“Seriously? I have to get shots??”

6-2-10 3

We are starting solid foods tonight! Rice cereal! All three of us (me, Brad and Noah) are SO excited about starting solids!! We will be sure to take plenty of pictures for your viewing pleasure!!

“Please no more shots!”

6-2-10

His doctor said he was perfect (duh!) and a ‘big boy’ (DUH!). He has a little eczema and still has a little cradle cap but no worries!

6-2-10 4

Hopefully Noah will start sleeping through the night again!
