So last Wednesday after we got the go-ahead from Noah’s pediatrician, we fed him rice cereal for supper.
At first he just ate it like he had done it a million times before!
Then he thought I must have poisoned him.
Then he liked it again.
He has been doing fabulously with it ever since. He eats 2 tbsp of rice cereal mixed with about an ounce of formula for breakfast and dinner. And sometimes he finishes the 3.5 ounces left in the bottle we used!
Friday, he took TWO two hour naps during the day AND slept allllll night. It was a glorious day. We messed up his new sleep schedule by staying at a friend’s house until midnight Saturday night….but we are hoping for better luck tonight!
I see now why people want to give it to their babies early. The stuff is MAGICAL!! (Though I’m glad we waited.)
This coming week….a vegetable! Suggestions? I’ve heard to do a green veggie first, I’ve heard an orange veggie, I’ve heard SCREW veggies and try applesauce and fruit! What did yall do first after rice cereal?

Cute pics! Jackson is 5 months old today and he's only had fruits (apples, bananas, peaches and pears.) I'm not going to start veggies until 6 months. It's just my preference but we did wait a week in between each new fruit to make sure Jax wasn't allergic. Keep us posted on what you end up choosing! :)
I always started with veggies. I didn't want to get them used to the sweet first and then have a hard time with the veggies :) I started with green beans first both times. I also waited a few days in between switching foods. Have fun and take lots of messy face pics!!
Your little man is just precious, I love reading your blog. I totally think it is
up to you how you want to do it. I started with green beans (tried them 1 week) then moved to a fruit did that 1 week and switch back and forth until we tried everything. I was very lucky that mine were not allergic to anything that we tried and seemed to like it all. I think this stage is a lot of fun. Good Luck and have fun with it!

How exciting to watch your baby eat cereal for the first time. I'm looking forward to that day...but not yet. :-) Our NP suggested starting with an orange vegetable because it is easier to digest than other ones. Just a thought.
My son's doctor gave the okay to add cereal when he was only 4 weeks old. He was a big baby and always seemed hungry. As soon as I gave him cereal he was sleeping through the night.
It's funny how different doctors have different opinions, isn't it?
I agree with doing veggies first so he doesn't get used to the sweets and refuse the veggies. And I think you have to try different things. My son hated green beans but liked carrots.
