11 weeks

SONY DSC

How far along? 11 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: I thought for sure I gained this week, but I’m still the same.

Maternity clothes: I wear my Bella Band every day, otherwise I wear my regular clothes.

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: Good, but sometimes I wake up around 1am wide awake and it takes me a little bit to go back to sleep.

Best moment this week: Feeling a little better.

Movement: Sometimes I think I may feel something, but it’s probably just gas. :)

Food cravings/aversions: I’m not craving any one thing in particular, but when I want something, I want it now! This week I craved bagel bites. And pickles are still really good.

Gender: Probably boy

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In, but flattening

What I miss: Spending time with my family instead of in the bed!

What I am looking forward to: Our ultrasound on Friday!

Weekly wisdom: I’m fresh out!

Milestone: Inching closer to the second trimester. I’m finally feeling a little less sick!

So I went out and bought an Intelligender last week. If you don’t know what that is…it’s a gender prediction test. You just pee in the little cup and swoosh it around. It turns green if you are having a boy and orange if you are having a girl. I bought one with Noah and it turned out to be right! This time it said…

intelligender

So now I’m pretty convinced that we are having a boy! :)

10 weeks

SONY DSC

How far along? 10 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: Still the same!

Maternity clothes: Bella Band. I am starting to have to carefully choose my shirts, though. The belly combined with growing ‘girls’ are making my shirts fit funny.

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: Still really good. Still having the vivid dreams. And still really tired, but I feel like that’s improving a little.

Best moment this week: Finally getting a prescription to help with my nausea! Hallelujah!

Movement: None. But I can’t wait!

Food cravings/aversions: I started craving pickles within the last week or so. Isn’t it so strange how some foods just taste so much better when you are pregnant? I’ve also been eating a lot of saltine crackers this week, but mainly because that was the only thing that didn’t make me want to puke.

Gender: Now I’m starting to think maybe a girl? Only because I’ve been so sick. I honestly don’t think I’d even know what to do with a girl, though!

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In

What I miss: Not being nauseous all the time

What I am looking forward to: Our first ultrasound in two weeks!

Weekly wisdom: Marry a good husband that can take care of you, the house, the other kids. You will need him! My husband has been a ROCK STAR!!

Milestone: Having my first prenatal appointment. It definitely feels more real now!

SONY DSC

How far along? 9 weeks, 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: Same, though I don’t see how! I feel like I’m huge.

Maternity clothes: Just the Bella Band.

Stretch marks: Same old ones.

Sleep: Sooo good. I am still having the vivid dreams and those wake me up a few times a night, but I always go right back to sleep. I want to go to sleep as soon as I get home from work each day, but I make myself stay up to spend time with Noah and B!

Best moment this week: I can’t think of any particular moment. I am just loving life in general!

Movement: None

Food cravings/aversions: I still love water with lemon. Sometimes it’s the only thing that can soothe my stomach. This week, I’ve craved pasta salad. For aversions, coffee and McDonald’s french fries.

Gender: Still thinking boy

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In

What I miss: Being able to eat and not feel like I want to throw it up afterwards

What I am looking forward to: Doctor’s appointment on Friday

Weekly wisdom: First trimester sleep in awesome!

Milestone: Making it another week!

Maternity clothes: Not yet. I have sported the Bella Band a time or two though. I am just so bloated!

Best moment this week: Finding out I was pregnant! :)

Movement: None

Food cravings/aversions: I am loving water with lemons and anything sour. My aversions change depending on my appetite at the moment.

Gender: I’m thinking boy!

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: In

What I miss: Nothing really

What I am looking forward to: My first doctor’s appointment

Weekly wisdom: Pretzels and lemonheads help with nausea!

Milestone: Telling everyone about our little one!

Announcing…

big brother

We are pregnant!!! Smile Smile Smile

4-24-13 test 1

So the details…(this might be more information than you want to read!)

We didn’t really try in March, but we didn’t try not to either. I got what I thought was my period on the 1st of April, but it was only spotting a day, skipping a day, spotting a day, etc. Once we got to April, I decided that I would chart my bbt so I would know when I ovulated. Well right off the bat, my temps were high. It never crossed my mind that I could already be pregnant. I just assumed that my medication was affecting my temps. I charted all month and my temps remained elevated for the most part and never showed that I ovulated (because I was already pregnant!). So I called my doctor and explained to him that I was not ovulating, just like with Noah, so we agreed that I would start Clomid in May.

Then on April 22nd, my sister had my sweet little nephew! We were in charge of keeping my niece, Reece, while they were in the hospital. None of us slept really well (probably because there were 3 of us in the bed) and I started to notice how tired I was feeling. I assumed that it was the lack of sleep combined with being at the hospital all day and the excitement of all that. Then the next day, I went to work, drank a big cup of coffee and a Diet Mt Dew and I still could not hold my eyes open. Then the nausea hit. Big time. That’s when I decided that I needed to take a test the next morning.

The ‘pregnant’ line showed up so fast and so dark! I couldn’t believe it! I went to the bedroom and woke Brad up and whispered “I’m pregnant!” in his ear. He said, “Are you sure?” :) He’s always in denial about such things. Love it!

Once I got to work, I decided that I wanted to take a digital test, so I ran out and bought one!

4-24-13 test 2

After I started putting all the pieces of the puzzle together (the super dark line on the test, the high temps, etc.) I realized that I was actually 7 1/2 weeks!

I called my doctor and I couldn’t get an appointment until May 10th…and that’s just for blood work. Once they get all my information, then they will schedule an ultrasound. So I’ll probably be like 12 weeks before I even get to see this sweet baby! So frustrating.

Because I was feeling so sick and SO BLOATED and because I am the WORST secret keeper on the planet, we decided to go ahead and tell everyone about our little bean! I really wanted to wait until we had an ultrasound first, but I just couldn’t keep it in any longer!!

I am now 8 weeks (as of Saturday!). Look for that post tomorrow! Smile

A potty update

Well it’s been almost two months since we had our Potty Day and made the switch to underwear. It’s been a long and bumpy road and we are still riding the ride! Noah is doing really well with peeing in the potty. At first, I would have to remind him every 15-20 minutes to go. But now, he will say “Mommy, I have to go potty!” or sometimes he will just go to the potty all by himself! He rarely has a tee-tee accident at home now (school and church are a different story some days, though!) Last night, he even started standing up to pee! :)

But then there’s the poo.

I can count on one hand the times I have personally seen Noah poop in the potty. He just won’t do it. He will go in his undies and then will either tell me he did it or I’ll smell it. It is SO frustrating. He has always had poop issues, ever since he was a baby. We have tried EVERYTHING to get him to poop in the potty…rewarding him with candy or stickers or toys when he even attempts to poop in the potty, punishing him for pooping in his underwear (spanking, time-out, or no tv), sitting him on the potty for 30 minutes at a time while reading a book or playing on the iPhone, telling him how much we dislike washing poopy underwear, telling him that big boys poop in the potty, letting him watch us take a poo and then watch it go down as we flush (gross! ha!), not saying anything when he poops in his undies and just changing him, etc. You name it, we’ve done it. And if you ask him why he poops in his underwear, he says “I don’t know.” He knows he’s supposed to do it on the potty, he just won’t.

I talked to his pediatrician about his lack of pooping in the potty and she suggested that he may be holding it in because he doesn’t want to go in the potty, therefore making him constipated. So we tried giving him Miralax and that just gave him diarrhea!

So right now, we are sending two changes of clothing a day to preschool (after two accidents, they put a pull-up on him for the remainder of the day) and doing a whole lot of laundry. I’m really at a loss on this one. Should I just be patient and pray that one day it will click with him? Or is there something else I can do? Another problem I have is that he can’t move up to the next room at preschool in August if he isn’t completely potty trained so I feel pressured to make sure he is 100% trained by then.

HELP! Any and all advice is welcome! :)
