Geocaching fun!

Well my husband was in Honduras all last week, and surprisingly I did ok! No tears this time, go me! The day after he got back, I begged him to take me and Noah geocaching as my treat for surviving the week!

Noah LOVES ‘cashacashing’!

I also took plenty of pictures of our finds to document for my 101 in 1001 list!

It was a great movie, but the book was better to me. I would still see it again though!

#62 – Check!

Number 62 on my 101 in 1001 list was to watch a new tv show. After much persuasion from my sister, she finally talked me into watching GCB.

gcb

I love Kristin Chenoweth, so I figured what the heck! And I LOVED it! It comes on Sunday nights after Desperate Housewives at 9pm. We all know that’s past my bedtime, but that’s what DVR is for, right? :)

I’ve lost all my wisdom

Hello friends! It’s good to be back amongst the living. Last Thursday I had my wisdom teeth removed. I expected the surgery and recovery to be a breeze, but it has totally kicked my butt.

The dentist that I’ve gone to since almost birth recently stopped practicing, so I moved to Brad’s dentist. This was in February. Well they took some xrays and saw this…

xray

As you can see, (I feel like Vanna White), my wisdom teeth on the bottom were coming in sideways and the teeth on top were growing into the roots of other teeth! Not good. One of the bottom wisdom teeth had broken the skin and was starting to irritate me AND they were starting to shift the rest of my teeth on the bottom, so we decided that they needed to come out soon!

So we scheduled the surgery and out they came! The strangest part for me was when the surgeon was getting out the last tooth. I guess they cut back on the anesthesia since they were almost done because I could hear everything that was going on. And even though it wasn’t painful at all, I could feel what they were doing. It was a little creepy! Thursday was not a pretty day for me. After one sip of soup at dinner time, I officially lost my cookies. That’s SUPER fun after you’ve just had your mouth cut on.

When I met with my surgeon before the surgery to discuss everything, he told me that since I’m so small, I probably wouldn’t swell much. WELLLLLLLLLLL folks, I just happened to document my ever expanding elephantitus  just for you!

Sunday

No swelling at all, see? :) And Sunday morning I woke up with a HUGE bruise on the side of my face.

bruise

It’s actually gotten worse since I took that picture. AND this morning, I woke up with a black eye! What in the world???

But I brushed my teeth, showered and came to work today! Hopefully I will be able to make it through the day!

The McMichael Funhouse

Our ABS (Adult Bible Study) class started a new Bible study on Monday nights, so me, Brad and my friend Natalie volunteered to watch everybody’s kiddos so they could attend the study! We only had three kids (Noah, Peyton and Alaina) but we had so much fun!

Baby Alaina loved Brad, so he got to be a baby hog for most of the night! He loved getting to feed and rock a baby again! I’m thinking we need a baby girl… ;)

At one point in the evening, the adults were in the living room and suddenly it got quiet in the playroom. I snuck in to find Noah and Peyton sitting together, reading! How sweet are they?

I can’t wait until next week so we can do it all over again!

There’s an elephant in the room

We had a pretty low key weekend at our house, but Saturday we did get to go party at our friend’s house for Addison’s 4th birthday!

It was an Alabama themed party and all my people were having a fabulous time….until Big Al showed up. Ha!

Addison's Party 003

I tried really hard to get Noah to sit on Big Al’s lap for a picture but he was freaking his FREAK! He said, “No Mommy! No elephants!! I go see the tractor outside.”

Addison's Party 006

But luckily, there was cake and ice cream involved so he didn’t get too upset!

So instead of taking pictures with the elephant, I had a little photo shoot with my niece and nephews!

101 in 1001

Most people know about this, but just in case you don’t I will try to explain! Basically you make a list of 101 goals that you want to accomplish and you have 1,001 days to get them completed! I like the motivation and being able to check things off of a list! :)

I made my first list a little over a year ago so I still had some time to work on it. But the more I looked at my list, the more I wanted to start over. There were things on my list that I didn’t want to do anymore or things I wouldn’t have the opportunity to do again, etc. And another big reason I wanted to start over was because I want to have a blog post for every item I check off. With my first list, I tried to blog about each item but some things just slipped through the cracks.

SO, I trashed my old list and made a new one! Some things were on my old list and some things are new. But this time, I will NOT check something off the list without providing proof that it was completed! :)

You can find my 101 in 1001 list on the right side of my page under the archives.

Big boy bed

After much deliberation (mostly in my head. ha!) we decided to transition Noah from his crib to a toddler bed last night! Initially, I thought that we would wait until he started trying to crawl out of his crib before we converted, but we want to start potty training soon so I figured he would need to be able to get out of his crib for that. Plus I just felt like he was ready for it, so we did it! We were going to convert his bed Sunday afternoon, but it was obviously still daylight and I figured he would be more apt to stay in his bed if it was dark. So we waited until Monday night so he could have all week to get used to the idea of his big boy bed, before Saturday and Sunday naps take place!

Here he is Sunday night, his last night in the baby crib!

Monday night, Daddy and Noah converting the crib!

He has always slept with his head on the right side of the crib, so that’s why we put the little rail there. So after we put him down last night, we hovered over the baby monitor to hear what he was doing. At one point, we heard him say “I wanna check the mail!” so we figured he was up and looking out of his window at the mailbox. But around 8pm-ish we snuck in to check on him and he was passed out with his head hanging off the left side of the bed! I tried my best not to freak out (we laid pillows down on the floor just in case). But when I went in his room this morning to wake him up…

He was back in his usual spot! I’m so glad he has made the switch easily! Hopefully he will continue to stay in his bed!

I’m thinking about letting Noah get used to his big boy bed for a few weeks and then we are having potty training boot camp at our house! Yippee!
