Hospital Visit

I woke up Sunday morning not quite feeling like myself. But on Sunday mornings I am usually running around so much that I end up not feeling great anyway, so I figured I was just doing too much before church. I made it through the morning and my shower that afternoon. That night, Brad and I went to bed as normal. I woke up around 2am with what I thought was VERY bad indigestion. So I got up and went to sit in my recliner. I figured that if I sat up for a while, the indigestion would get better. About 30 minutes later, my mouth started watering and I made a mad dash to the bathroom to throw up.

I felt better afterwards and assumed that I had just eaten too much for supper the night before. I went to get back in my recliner and no matter what position I got in, I couldn't get comfortable. So then I tried moving to the couch. No luck. Then I decided to just go back to bed. I made it about half way there when my mouth started watering again. So BACK to the bathroom I went to throw up AGAIN. And so it began. From 2:30am-8:00am, I threw up 5-6 times. NOT FUN.

I called my doctor's office and they called me in some medicine. Until I got the medicine, I kept throwing up. My doctor said that if I wasn't better by that evening, I would have to go to the hospital to get an iv. WELL....about 5pm when Brad got home from work, I checked my temperature and it was 100.4. So off to the hospital we went.

Now in the past year, with the fertility treatments we did, I got pretty used to being stuck with a needle. I was used to the pain and in fact, it really doesn't even hurt anymore. Getting an iv is completely different that having blood drawn people! I almost came up OFF THE BED when the nurse gave me the iv. And then I came this close to passing out!

They drew some blood (and my blood was dark purple/black! Weird!) but everything came back normal. So they are guessing I just had some sort of stomach virus. I got some iv fluids and as we were leaving the hospital, the nurse topped me off with some phenergan. I love that stuff. I don't even remember the car ride home or Brad putting me to bed.

I woke up this morning feeling about 30% better. I'm not feeling sickly anymore, I'm just REALLY sore and achy all over. But I'm on the mend. And we got to hear Noah's heartbeat for a good 30 minutes last night in the hospital!

So I'm sitting here drinking my Sprite. Happy Tuesday yall! At least I think it's Tuesday...

Hey, I found your blog through Erin at "Hoping for our own peanut". Just wanted to say I hope you feel better soon. There's nothing worse than being sick while pregnant.
