Teething

So I know it’s really really soon, but I think Noah may be teething already. All of a sudden he started to drool/slobber constantly. We go through 2-3 bibs a day just at work!

5-4-10

And he always has his fist in his mouth, chewing on his fingers. I felt around on his gums and they don’t feel swollen or anything so I don’t know if he is teething or not.

But he has also been really cranky for the past couple of days. So I dug through his armoire and found some teethers that people bought us for his showers and such and gave them to him to play with.

5-5-10

Those were a big hit! He can grab on to them very easily. We even put some on his carseat with a fish attached to the end and he held on to it all the way to church last night!

Yesterday I froze a teether at work and gave it to him.

Another hit! He LOVES that thing! The only problem is that it doesn’t have handles or anything on it so it’s hard for him to hold onto. And it’s a little difficult for him to figure out how to hold it and bring it up to his mouth, but he’s starting to figure that out.

He licks it like a popsicle!

He will be three months on Sunday. Did any of your babies ever teethe this early or am I just getting ahead of myself?

(And to update yall-naps are a little better. I think he’s just a light sleeper during the day, so I’ve been trying to stay out of the room he’s asleep in and work in another room. That seems to be helping a little bit. Thanks for yall’s comments on that post!)

(OH! And to update yall on me….I’ve lost a total of 27 pounds with WW! Only 3 more pounds to lose before I’m at my pre-pregnancy weight!)

Naps

4-26-10

Look at how big my baby boy is getting! Yesterday our pastor told the congregation that we must be feeding him fertilizer!

But I need some advice. As you know, I take Noah to work with me (perks of working for my Dad). Here lately, he won’t hardly sleep during the day. He will take 5-10 minute powernaps throughout the day but won’t ever take a good nap. So it’s really hard for me to get things done and he ends up being SUPER tired at the end of the day. Any ideas of how I can get him to take longer daytime naps?

Other than the naps, things are going fabulously with Noah. He is getting bigger and bigger every day and showing more personality, too! He may look exactly like his Daddy, but he definitely gets his patience (or lack there of) and attitude from his Mommy!

Have a great week!

Geocaching

Saturday night, while Brad and I were hanging out with some friends, somehow the topic of geocaching came up. I had only heard of it once before but never knew what it was. And in case you don’t know what it is either, here’s a definition:

images

Geocaching is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache’s existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS unit can then try to locate the geocache.

We did a quick search for geocaches in our area and there are literally hundreds just in our town. So Sunday afternoon, Brad and I went searching for some! We searched at four different locations and ended up finding two of the caches.

It’s crazy how there is this whole secret geocaching world that no one ever talks about! And the two caches that we found were by our house and our church-the twos places we are at the most-and we never even knew this stuff existed!

I’m glad that Brad and I found a hobby that we both enjoy and it gets us outside and moving! Do any of you geocache?

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

So how do you like my new look?? I want to give a shout out to Leslie Lambert for my blog makeover! I think it looks fabulous!

Guess who slept through the night (8:30pm-6:30am) last night….

4-22-10

I could get used to that! AND if you know Noah, you know he is a SLOW eater. Well this morning, he downed a 7 oz bottle in 10 minutes! I could get used to that too!

I finally feel like my head is above water now. Noah has settled himself into a nice routine and I think Brad and I have finally gotten used to our world revolving around something besides ourselves. You hear “A baby will change your lives!!” and think yeah, yeah, I know, I know. But you never really know until it happens!

In weight loss news…I totally jumped off the diet track Tuesday night when I went to Bunco. I had Taco Casa for lunch that day, about six Mountain Dews, a bunch of chips, a hamburger, some cookies AND a piece of strawberry cake from Celebrations! I gained a pound….but have already lost it again! AND my boobs are smaller now than they were before I was pregnant! That is FABULOUS!

And finally, I am in Spring Cleaning Mode! I want my house clean from top to bottom, inside and out! I have given the Honey his Honey-Do list for outside and I am tackling the inside. I am hosting Bunco in May so my cleaning will be done by then!

That’s all!

Life

Life continues to be VERY busy for us! I have been nearly on my deathbed this past week from my allergies. They are AWFUL!! I’m slowly recooperating though. And I’ve lost 23 pounds with WW!

Noah slept through the night (9:30pm-5:30am) Friday night! We are hoping for more of those!

2 months old!

Noah turned two months old on Friday!

april 002

  • Noah is in size 1 diapers.
  • He wears 0-3 month clothes.
  • As of last Wednesday, Noah weighs 13 pounds even!

april 004

  • He holds his head up VERY well to be so small. He can’t stand being held like a baby unless he’s sleepy. He thinks he is a big boy now and likes to be held upright so he can see what all is going on around him.
  • He still LOVES his bath time. He doesn’t kick around or splash the water though. He just likes to kick back and relax.
  • His new trick is blowing bubbles. He does it all the time!
  • He is becoming more vocal these days. He loves practicing his O’s with Mommy every morning!

april 034

  • We moved him into his room when he was about five weeks old. He sleeps better in his crib and so do Mommy and Daddy! The Easter bunny brought him a Fisher-Price aquarium that he loves to watch and listen to right before bed.
  • Noah normally eats 4-5 oz every 2-3 hours during the day and he eats 5-7 oz at night-waking only once or twice.
  • He loves watching tv…especially basketball or Spongebob. If either are on the tv, he will stare and stare and stare.
  • We finally figured out that if we boil Noah’s water for his bottles instead of giving him plain tap water, he has ZERO stomach/gas problems. I can’t even remember the last time I had to give him Mylicon or gripe water!

april 001

  • Noah noticed Bella for the first time this weekend. He just stared at her like, “What’s that!!!” It was so cute!
  • It’s hard to remember what life was like pre-Noah! Our whole world revolves around him and we wouldn’t have it any other way!!

2 month check up

Noah went in for his 2 month check up yesterday. He is in perfect health!

2 month doctor app

That little piggy weighed 13 lbs even, measured 23 1/2 inches long and his head circumference measured at 16 1/4 inches. Everything measured in the 75th percentile. His pediatrician said that he was proportionate…just a BIG baby! When she asked how much he was eating and I told her that he has no problem downing 7 ounces, her jaw hit the floor! Ha! He takes after his Daddy!

2 month doctor app 2

Poor baby was so healthy that he got FIVE shots and one by mouth. He did NOT like that and neither did Mommy or MiMi! He was so pitiful.

He is still acting a little feverish today. I’ve been giving him Tylenol and keeping a close eye on him though!

Check back soon for Noah’s two month picture and update!
