Rain, rain go away

It has been raining cats and dogs here since yesterday! As I was driving home from work yesterday, the street was practically flooded!

This morning around 6am, I got a call from our answering service at work. Apparently a tree had fallen on one of our rental houses.

No fun! Luckily no one was home.

I saw the outside and my maintenance man walked up and said, “And this isn’t even the bad spot. Look inside!”

Well I did and he was right. The insulation and ceiling had completely caved in and I could see the sky from INside the bedroom!

That’s the inside. It isn’t that great of a picture…the power lines got wrapped up in the tree that fell so there was no power. But the white glows at the top of the picture are the sunlight coming through the roof!

That’s not going to be a fun job to clean up.

We just got back from my nephew’s Kindergarten graduation and it’s STILL raining. I took tons of pictures so look for that post coming soon!

Your weekly update!

My step-dad finally gave me some pictures from Noah’s baby dedication so here are a few more for your viewing pleasure:

In other news…

I have completely fallen off the diet train. I lost 27 pounds, then gained three back, then lost two, then gained one, etc. As of this morning, I am still four pounds heavier than I was pre-pregnancy. I want to lost those plus 12 more and that’s never going to happen with me slacking all the time. So the diet is back ON (except for on my anniversary when Brad is taking me to my FAVORITE restaurant EVER and next weekend when we and some friends go to the beach! I have been craving some good seafood….IF we can even get any seafood…stupid oil spill…)

Anyway, for some reason Noah has been waking up twice a night for the past couple of weeks. 12am and 4am without fail. We’ve tried keeping him up later and later (even until 10:30pm), we’ve tried giving him more to eat before bed, nothing works. Any ideas? I’m hoping that once we start solids in a few weeks (if the pediatrician gives us the go ahead) that will help tie him over through the night.

Mother’s Day

Last year on Mother’s Day I remember wondering if I would be pregnant by Mother’s Day 2010. Who would have known that I wouldn’t be pregnant...but have a beautiful 3 month old baby instead!! I thoroughly enjoyed my first Mother’s Day with Noah.

scan0001

Not only was it Mother’s Day, and not only did Noah turn three months old that day, but Noah was also dedicated at church!

scan0003

We are the second to last family on the right. There were so many other babies being dedicated as well that poor Brad had to stand behind me and we didn’t really get a good picture of us on stage.

But it was still a special moment for us. And in case you are wondering, yes my arms were killing me by the time we finished!

scan0002

Noah was worn out from the festivities! And my first Mother’s Day present was a new flowerbed! Brad completely redid it…front and back!

Yesterday, we had Noah’s 3 month pictures taken. I wish I would have had some newborn pictures taken of him, but I just felt so overwhelmed with everything at the time. I’ll be sure to post some of his latest pictures though next week!

Happy weekend!

3 months old!

Noah turned three months old on Mother’s Day. It was such a busy day for us, I didn’t even take his three month picture! I know, bad Mommy. But we took a few last night…

Here is what Noah has been up to lately:

  • In size 1-2 diapers and about to move to size 2 as soon as we run out of this pack!
  • Wears a few 0-3 month clothes, some 3-6 month
  • Weighs 15 lb 13 oz…as our preacher said, “He’s a hoss!”
  • Drinks 4-7 oz every 2-3 hours during the day and wakes up once or twice a night IF he wakes up at all!

4603923108_7a6490937f_m

  • We just moved to size 3 nipples…Noah LOVES ‘helping’ hold his bottle. Unfortunately, his helping usually involves him pulling the bottle out of his mouth and then getting mad about it!
  • We just took the hammock out of his bathtub…so now he loves to kick his legs and splash around! We started giving him his bath in his tub in the big tub last night (instead of on the kitchen counter) to avoid further messes!

5-13-10

  • Has his Daddy and MiMi wrapped around his finger when he cries his ‘pitiful cry’
  • Still has gas constantly but it doesn’t bother him….he’s still the stinkiest baby I’ve ever known!
  • Is starting to look a teensy bit like Mommy
  • LOVES his Bumbo seat finally
  • Loves practicing his ‘squats’ with Mommy in the mornings
  • Will say “oooo” and “guuuu” on command..see picture below!

4603296879_344d44956a_m

  • Somehow knows when you are feeding him with your left hand and will pitch a fit until you switch hands and feed him with your right hand
  • LOVES chewing on burp clothes, his HANDS, and teethers
  • Has started liking his bouncy seat now that he can kick and bounce it
  • The wind blowing on his face takes his breath away but he loves being outside

  • If he’s awake, he will sit by himself (in the swing, Bumbo, crib) for about 15 minutes…then you must hold him the rest of his awake time…or you’ll be sorry!
  • Nicknames include: No-No (Brad gets on to me about that one), Monkey, Monkey Moo, Moo Moo, Munckin, Munckie, Bitty, Stinky-for obvious reasons, and Slobber Biscuit

  • He’s the cutest baby in the WORLD and Mommy and Daddy would do anything for him! We love you Noah!

Teething

So I know it’s really really soon, but I think Noah may be teething already. All of a sudden he started to drool/slobber constantly. We go through 2-3 bibs a day just at work!

5-4-10

And he always has his fist in his mouth, chewing on his fingers. I felt around on his gums and they don’t feel swollen or anything so I don’t know if he is teething or not.

But he has also been really cranky for the past couple of days. So I dug through his armoire and found some teethers that people bought us for his showers and such and gave them to him to play with.

5-5-10

Those were a big hit! He can grab on to them very easily. We even put some on his carseat with a fish attached to the end and he held on to it all the way to church last night!

Yesterday I froze a teether at work and gave it to him.

teething 5-5-10 3

Another hit! He LOVES that thing! The only problem is that it doesn’t have handles or anything on it so it’s hard for him to hold onto. And it’s a little difficult for him to figure out how to hold it and bring it up to his mouth, but he’s starting to figure that out.

teething 5-5-10

He licks it like a popsicle!

teething 5-5-10 2

He will be three months on Sunday. Did any of your babies ever teethe this early or am I just getting ahead of myself?

(And to update yall-naps are a little better. I think he’s just a light sleeper during the day, so I’ve been trying to stay out of the room he’s asleep in and work in another room. That seems to be helping a little bit. Thanks for yall’s comments on that post!)

(OH! And to update yall on me….I’ve lost a total of 27 pounds with WW! Only 3 more pounds to lose before I’m at my pre-pregnancy weight!)

Naps

4-26-10

Look at how big my baby boy is getting! Yesterday our pastor told the congregation that we must be feeding him fertilizer!

sleeping on daddy

But I need some advice. As you know, I take Noah to work with me (perks of working for my Dad). Here lately, he won’t hardly sleep during the day. He will take 5-10 minute powernaps throughout the day but won’t ever take a good nap. So it’s really hard for me to get things done and he ends up being SUPER tired at the end of the day. Any ideas of how I can get him to take longer daytime naps?

sleeping on mommy

Other than the naps, things are going fabulously with Noah. He is getting bigger and bigger every day and showing more personality, too! He may look exactly like his Daddy, but he definitely gets his patience (or lack there of) and attitude from his Mommy!

Have a great week!
